Lens vs Paris FC: five unbeaten meetings and a Tuesday night in Bruges
The last time these two met, Lens won 5-0 away at Paris FC. That was on 14 February, and it followed a 2-1 win at Bollaert in October 2025, so Lens have scored seven and conceded one across the two Ligue 1 meetings since Paris FC came up.
The longer record points the same way. Lens are unbeaten in their last five meetings with Paris FC in all competitions, and Paris FC haven’t won at Stade Bollaert-Delelis since a 1-0 in Ligue 2 in 2016.
This season’s table points the other way. Paris FC are third on 14 points from seven games, with four wins, two draws, one defeat and a goal difference of +5. Lens are eighth on 10 points, four behind, after three wins, a draw and three defeats.
The fixture list matters here. Lens lost 3-0 at Club Brugge in the Champions League on Tuesday night, their second straight European defeat after a 0-2 at home to Sporting. Paris FC haven’t played since beating Rennes 4-3 last Saturday, so Liam Rosenior’s squad gets a full week of rest against a Lens side on three days.
Kick-off at Bollaert is 19:45 UK time on Saturday 24 October, the last Saturday before the clocks go back. We think the head-to-head and the home record carry more weight than the table here, for reasons that come down to how each side has played away from its own ground.
Lens: two league wins in a row, and Thauvin behind most of it
Yannick Cahuzac’s side have won their last two league games, 2-1 at home to Lyon and 3-1 at Troyes last weekend. In Troyes, an own goal put them in front before Odsonne Edouard and Ruben Aguilar added the others.
That run followed a bad stretch. Before Lyon, Lens had lost 2-1 at Strasbourg, 1-0 at home to Lorient and 2-1 at Monaco, with a 2-2 draw at Le Mans in between. That adds up to two wins from six league games, both of them in the last fortnight.
Florian Thauvin is the main source of their attack, with three goals and six assists in the league. Lens average two league goals a game, joint second in Ligue 1, and they put in more crosses than anyone else, 7.43 per match.
Europe has gone badly. Lens have conceded at least twice in all three Champions League games, and the 3-0 in Bruges on Tuesday came with no goal at the other end. In the league, they’ve conceded once in their last two games and won two of their three home fixtures.
The squad is short in two places. Jhoanner Chavez and Abdallah Sima are both expected to miss out with thigh strains, while Jonathan Gradit and Maik Nawrocki are doubts. Matthieu Udol returns after his red-card suspension, which gives Cahuzac his first-choice left wing-back back.

Paris FC: unbeaten at home, but two blanks in three away games
Paris FC beat Rennes 4-3 last Saturday with a penalty in the 97th minute. Lassine Sinayoko scored it, Maxime Lopez had already scored twice, and the result kept Rosenior’s side third.
Sinayoko has six league goals and three assists, the same nine goal involvements as Thauvin. Lopez and Pierre Lees-Melou give the midfield control: Paris FC complete 513 passes a game, the third-highest figure in Ligue 1.
Their home record carries the season. They’re unbeaten at home in the league, with nine goals scored there, including 3-0 against Nice and 2-1 against Strasbourg, plus a 0-0 with Lyon.
Away from home the numbers drop. They won 3-2 at Marseille on 6 September, but they’ve failed to score in their other two away league games, the latest a 1-0 defeat at Lorient on 10 October. They also cross the ball less than almost anyone, 2.43 times a game, 18th in the division.
Their defensive record is solid overall, with seven goals conceded in seven league games, but four of those came in the last two matches: one at Lorient and three against Rennes.
There’s a discipline issue too. Paris FC have conceded three penalties this season, the most in Ligue 1. Jonathan Ikoné (leg) and Nhoa Sangui (hamstring) are out, and Luca Koleosho is a doubt with a knock.
Probable lineup Lens: Risser; Antonio, Ganiou, Baidoo; Aguilar, Haidara, Bulatovic, Udol; Thauvin, Sotoca; Edouard
Probable lineup Paris FC: Trapp; Camara, Chergui, Coppola, Traore; Lopez, Lees-Melou; Kebbal, Pagis, Krasso; Sinayoko

Our prediction: Lens to win
We’re siding with the home team. Lens have won two of three home league games, average two goals a match and have scored seven times in their last two league meetings with Paris FC. Their visitors have failed to score in two of three away league trips.
The case against is the calendar. Lens played in Bruges on Tuesday and lost 3-0, while Paris FC have had a full week. We accept that tired legs could cost Lens late on, but their league form has held up after European nights so far, with the win at Troyes coming four days after the Sporting defeat.
Paris FC’s best football has come at home, built on possession. At Bollaert, against a side that crosses more than anyone and has Thauvin creating at that rate, we expect Lens to take the points, with Paris FC’s penalty count another reason for caution on the away side.

About our free predictions
- What we publish on MathOdds are analyses, nothing more. We share a view, a reading of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport remains what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a last-minute goal, and the script changes completely.
- Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing ever is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s even inevitable at some point.
- The smartest approach is to stay reasonable. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Never use money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase your losses: that rarely ends well.
- A bet should remain a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking up too much space in your daily life, causes stress or frustration, take a break. And if needed, talk to a support organisation: that’s what they’re there for.
- Ultimately, responsibility lies with you. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, no matter how good the analysis.
- Essential reminder: gambling is prohibited for minors and must comply with the laws of your country. Need help? Visit begambleaware.org.

A prediction is always based on what we know at the time of writing. But between publication and kick-off, a lineup can change, a player picks up an injury, the weather turns, and the analysis can quickly be outdated. We cannot be held responsible for that.
