Six goals to get them promoted, and now no room for him
Erwan Colas scored six and set up two in Ligue 2 last season as Le Mans climbed back into the top flight after 16 years away. His reward is a queue in front of him.
Look at what the Sarthe club have up front now. Louis Mafouta, Antoine Rabillard, Dame Gueye, who looks set to stay after all, William Harhouz, and the Brazilian arrival Enzo Vagner. Colas is 29. He is also, on current evidence, somewhere near the back of that line.
So Le Mans have started listening. Foot Mercato report that the promoted club are in discussions with Guingamp about moving him on before the deadline.

This is not a late scramble from the Breton side. Sylvain Ripoll wants the striker, and his assistant Benjamin Genton already coached him at Lorient, where Colas turned out for the reserve side in 2022-23.
One complication: Colas signed an extension running to 2029 not long ago. Le Mans are under no pressure to accept the first number they hear.
The same two clubs, the second deal of the summer
Foot Mercato describe the talks as progressing well, which figures. Le Mans and Guingamp already traded this summer when Mafouta went the other way.
That transfer is why Colas is available at all. A striker arrives, another one drops down the order, and suddenly the club that sold you a forward is a natural buyer for the one he displaced.
Ten days left. A newly promoted squad needs bodies, but bodies that never play are worth less than the fee they would fetch.
