No time for a victory lap
Harry Kane lifted the 2026 Ballon d’Or on Monday night in London. By Wednesday he could be back in a Bayern Munich shirt. Interim coach Aaron Danks confirmed the striker will train on Tuesday afternoon and be available for the German Cup tie against Magdeburg, according to L’Équipe.
The match kicks off at 8.45pm local time. Magdeburg, a second-division side, are the opponent after Bayern beat Osnabrück 4-1 in the previous round. Danks is in charge because Vincent Kompany is absent.

A record year, then straight back to work
Kane, 33, won the award after a season in which he scored 73 goals for club and country. He became the first English winner since Michael Owen in 2001, finishing ahead of Kylian Mbappé and Lamine Yamal. He also took the Golden Boot on the way.
Whether he starts is the open question. Danks only said he would be available, which leaves room for a place on the bench. A cup tie against lower-league opposition is the classic spot to manage minutes, but a Ballon d’Or winner back in the squad 48 hours after the gala is hard to leave out of the lineup.
