Lucumi signs through 2030
The move had been dragging on for days. Now it is done. Juventus confirmed Jhon Lucumi’s arrival this morning, with a deal running until 30 June 2030.
“Jhon Lucumi is officially a new Juventus player and has signed an agreement that will keep him at the club until 30 June 2030,” the Old Lady said in its statement.
The Colombian centre-back is 28. He leaves Bologna after four seasons in Emilia-Romagna. The deal is wrapped up well before the final days of the transfer window, giving him time to work with his new squad before Serie A kicks off.

Four seasons at Bologna as his calling card
Lucumi made 152 appearances in all competitions in the rossoblu shirt. That number tells you plenty about his reliability: few long-term injuries, and a place in the starting XI held down over time at a club that has raised its level sharply in recent years.
It was also at Bologna that he got his first taste of the Champions League.
His journey began at Deportivo Cali in his homeland. Genk signed him in 2018. He quickly established himself as one of the most dependable defenders in Belgium before heading to Italy. Eight seasons in Europe, four of them up close with Serie A.
What Juve expect from him
The Turin hierarchy are banking on his experience and maturity to shore up the centre of defence. Time is tight. That back line needed someone already used to the Italian tempo, not a player who’d spend six months trying to get up to speed.
Lucumi knows the forwards in this league. He knows deep defensive blocks, scrappy finishes, and the way Serie A officials handle contact. Juventus haven’t bought a gamble.
A four-year deal for a 28-year-old sends a clear message. The club does not see him as a summer stopgap. And the work is not finished yet: Turin are also pushing to complete the signing of a new goalkeeper.
