Fifteen to eight after one quarter on the road. Indiana never really let go of that early grip, and walked out of Atlanta with a 95-91 overtime win that keeps them fourth in the league. The Dream had three cracks at closing it out in the fourth. All three came up empty.

Whenever Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese share a floor, the WNBA tunes in. Last night was no different, even if the ending belonged to someone else. Clark posted 26 points and nine assists on 9-of-20 shooting, 3-of-10 from deep, and played a season-high 41 minutes. But Kelsey Mitchell was the one who dragged Indiana over the line, scoring 20 and hitting the shots that mattered after the break.

Allisha Gray gave Atlanta everything. Thirty-two points, seven rebounds, five assists, big shots when the Dream needed them. It still was not enough to protect a third-quarter lead. The team shot 35% from the floor and 25% from three, and those numbers do not survive an overtime.
Angel Reese finished with a double-double, 15 points and 14 rebounds, but shot 5-of-16 and missed the layup that would have won it in regulation.
Atlanta erased a nine-point hole before halftime
Indiana’s fast start did not scare the Dream. Atlanta pulled level at 21, then watched the Fever hit the gas again early in the second quarter to lead 36-27. Stephanie White’s group looked comfortable.
That lasted about five minutes. Atlanta answered with a run of its own and went in front 44-40, Gray already sitting on 15 points by the break.
Three misses in twelve seconds
Atlanta held control for long stretches after halftime and stretched it to 10 in the fourth. Then Indiana clawed back. Baskets from Aliyah Boston, Clark and Mitchell trimmed it to 72-74 with six minutes to play, and from there neither side could pull clear.
Twelve seconds left, Atlanta ball. Rhyne Howard’s three clanked off the rim and dropped straight into Reese’s hands under the basket. She went up immediately and missed. Naz Hillmon missed the follow. 81-81, overtime.
Overtime belonged to Indiana
The Fever took charge in the extra period and led 91-85 with 1:15 on the clock. Atlanta kept swinging. Mitchell answered with a contested layup inside the final 15 seconds to push it back to five, and Clark closed it out from the line.
Caitlin Clark has the highest IQ in the league. She deliberately bounced it off the backboard just hard enough to kill the shot clock and still keep possession. Pure chess.

Eight wins in their last 10 now for Indiana, 23-12 overall, top of the East and fourth in the league. Atlanta stay second in the conference and let a chance to close the gap slip through their fingers in the paint.
