Inter Milan vs Club Brugge – Free Champions League Prediction – 13/10/2026

Inter Milan vs Club Brugge: two pointless sides, and neither knows how to play a quiet game Champions League

Five of Inter’s last six matches have gone over 2.5 goals. Five of Club Brugge’s last six have too. Put those two records in the same stadium and you don’t need a calculator.

The game kicks off at San Siro on Tuesday 13 October, 21:00 Paris time. It’s Inter’s first home night of the league phase and both clubs are still sitting on zero points.

Inter lost 2-1 at the Bernabeu on matchday one. No shame in that. Brugge’s defeat stung more: 3-2 at home to Aston Villa after scoring twice, through Nicolo Tresoldi and Hugo Vetlesen. They showed they can hurt good teams. They also showed they can’t stop them.

Domestically, both have answered the questions. Inter beat Parma 3-0 on Saturday and are unbeaten in Serie A. Brugge went to La Louviere the same day and won 4-1. Neither side arrives wounded.

The match market has made its mind up: Inter around 1.31, Brugge near 11.40. That’s not where the interest is. At those numbers, the result tells you almost nothing you didn’t already know.

The goals market is where this gets interesting. Inter’s last six games have averaged four goals each. Brugge’s have averaged 3.5. What does that tell you about Tuesday? Plenty.

Inter Milan: unbeaten in Serie A, and they haven’t stopped scoring since August Inter Milan

Cristian Chivu’s side ran through Parma 3-0 at the weekend. Before that, a 2-2 draw in Rome, a 5-3 win over Udinese, 3-2 against Napoli, 1-0 at Cagliari and 4-1 against Monza on the opening day. Inter score in every game. They also concede in most of them.

Look at those scorelines again. Five-three. Three-two. Two-two. This isn’t a side that locks games down. It’s a side that outguns people, and it’s averaged 2.5 goals a game across the last six to do it.

The defensive side doesn’t bear close inspection. Inter have conceded 1.5 goals a game in that stretch, and their only clean sheets came against Cagliari and Parma. Udinese put three past them at San Siro. Brugge will have watched that tape.

Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram lead the line, with Federico Dimarco and Carlos Augusto both carrying a goal threat from wide. Hakan Calhanoglu was in line to return for the Parma game and gives Chivu his best passer back. There’s no shortage of ways to score.

There are a couple of absences to note. John Stones and Curtis Jones are both listed among the missing, which thins out the options in midfield and at the back. Chivu can cope. He’s got Petar Sucic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan on the bench.

And there’s the motivation. Inter lost in Madrid and can ill afford to drop more points at home to a side they should beat. They’ll go after this from the first whistle. That suits the goals angle perfectly.

Club Brugge: four goals at La Louviere, three conceded to Villa, and an attack that travels Club Brugge

Ask Aston Villa about Brugge. They won 3-2 at the Jan Breydel on matchday one, but they had to score three to do it. Tresoldi and Vetlesen both found the net, and Brugge were in that game until the end.

The domestic form is strong. Brugge beat Genk 3-0 and Antwerp 3-1 at home, won 1-0 at Lommel and put four past La Louviere on Saturday. The one blip was a 2-1 defeat at Gent at the end of August. Five wins from six in the league. That’s a side that knows what it’s about.

Tresoldi is the man to watch. He had five shots, three on target and a goal against Villa. Vetlesen sits just behind him and scored that night too, while Carlos Forbs and Jan Virgili supply pace from wide. Hans Vanaken still runs the midfield. This attack doesn’t need much to make something happen.

The back line is the worry. Joel Ordonez is listed as doubtful, and without him the centre-back pairing of Brandon Mechele and Lee Han-beom will face Lautaro and Thuram. That’s a tough night for anyone. For a defence that shipped three at home to Villa, it’s a very tough night.

Brugge won’t sit back, either. That isn’t how they play. They’ll press, they’ll commit bodies forward and they’ll leave space behind them. Inter love space.

The numbers back it up. Brugge have scored in every one of their last six games, averaging 2.33 a match, and both teams have scored in four of them. The same BTTS count applies to Inter. Two attacks firing, two defences with holes. Something will give.

Probable lineup Inter Milan: J. Martinez; Bisseck, Akanji, Bastoni; Diouf, Barella, Calhanoglu, Zielinski, Dimarco; Thuram, Lautaro Martinez.
Probable lineup Club Brugge: Sommer; Seys, Mechele, Lee Han-beom, Sabbe; Vanaken, Potts; Forbs, Vetlesen, Virgili; Tresoldi.

Free Champions League Prediction: Inter Milan vs Club Brugge

Our prediction: Over 2.5 goals (odds around 1.53)

Inter’s last six games have averaged four goals. Five of them went over 2.5. Brugge’s last six tell the same story: five overs, and they’ve scored in every single one. Neither of these teams plays tight games. Why would Tuesday be different?

Inter at 1.31 is too short to be interesting, and there’s always the chance Brugge nick one on the counter. The goals line covers both scenarios. An Inter win by two or three gets there, and so does a 2-1 with Brugge scoring through Tresoldi.

Inter will push hard after losing in Madrid, and Brugge don’t know how to defend deep. With Lautaro and Thuram leading the line, three goals is the floor, not the ceiling. Over 2.5 at 1.53 is the pick.

About our free predictions

  • What we publish on MathOdds are analyses, nothing more. We share a view, a reading of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport remains what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a last-minute goal, and the script changes completely.
  • Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing ever is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s even inevitable at some point.
  • The smartest approach is to stay reasonable. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Never use money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase your losses, that rarely ends well.
  • A bet should remain a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking up too much space in your daily life, causes stress or frustration, take a break. And if needed, talk to a support organisation: that’s what they’re there for.
  • Ultimately, responsibility lies with you. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, no matter how good the analysis.
  • Essential reminder: gambling is prohibited for minors and must comply with the laws of your country. Need help? Visit begambleaware.org.
