Indiana Pacers vs Washington Wizards: Davis’s ankle and a home team still winless at Gainbridge Fieldhouse
Anthony Davis sprained his right ankle in the first quarter against Atlanta on Wednesday and still finished with 26 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks on 12-of-19 shooting. He sat out the rematch in Atlanta two nights later, Washington lost 139-132, and he was listed as questionable for Saturday in Oklahoma City with no timeline given beyond that.
His status is the first thing to settle before Wednesday 11 November, tip-off 7:00pm ET at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Davis leads the Wizards at 23.4 points and 9.3 rebounds, he scored 25, 27 and 29 in three of the team’s recent games, and Washington is 4-5 and eighth in the East with him carrying the frontcourt.
Indiana is 3-6 and 10th in the East, and the split is unusual. The Pacers are 3-2 on the road and 0-4 in their own building, and Saturday’s game against Denver in Mexico City counts as a fifth home date. They ended a five-game losing streak with a 107-103 win in Memphis on Wednesday.
The schedule is identical for both teams in shape. Washington plays in Oklahoma City on Saturday and in Detroit on Monday, and Indiana goes from Mexico City to Dallas on Monday, so each side gets one day off before Wednesday. The Wizards then host Detroit on Thursday, the front end of a back-to-back.
Washington won three of the four meetings last season. Indiana took the first 119-86 at home on 28 November 2025, and the Wizards answered with a 108-89 win in Indianapolis on 14 December, then two wins in Washington on 19 and 20 February, 112-105 and 131-118. No line had been posted for Wednesday at the time of writing.
Indiana Pacers: Siakam and Nembhard carry an injury list that won’t shrink
Tyrese Haliburton was diagnosed with a mild strain in his left hamstring on 28 October, and Rick Carlisle said at the time he’d miss at least two weeks. That puts Wednesday right on the edge of his timeline, and nothing since has suggested he’s ahead of it.
The list doesn’t stop there. T.J. McConnell hasn’t made his season debut because of a right hamstring problem and was sent to the G League for game action on 31 October. Ben Sheppard is out for months after meniscus surgery, Johnny Furphy is recovering from a torn ACL and Kelly Oubre Jr. is day to day with a calf contusion.
Pascal Siakam and Andrew Nembhard have held the team up. Siakam is averaging 21.3 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists, and Nembhard 19.0 points with 6.9 assists. In Memphis, Nembhard scored 22, Siakam 20 and Aaron Nesmith 16, including the late three that put Indiana ahead to stay.
The home losses have mostly been close. Philadelphia won 114-109, Brooklyn 98-90 and Atlanta 108-104 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, and those three defeats came by a combined 17 points. The one blowout of the losing run, 145-125, came on the road in Miami.
Indiana averages 111.2 points and allows 114.2, shoots 32.8% from three and 75.1% from the free-throw line, and turns the ball over 15.8 times a game. Ivica Zubac returned from an ankle problem on Wednesday and played 19 minutes, which gives Carlisle a starting center again.

Washington Wizards: 4-5 with Davis, and 139 points allowed without him
The 139-132 loss in Atlanta on Friday was the most points Washington has conceded this season, and it came in the first game Davis missed. Kyshawn George scored 33, Trae Young had 23 points and 10 assists in his first game back in Atlanta but turned it over eight times, and Tre Johnson added 23 with five threes.
The Wizards have been a different team when Davis plays. He had 25 points and 13 rebounds in the 95-79 win over Charlotte on 30 October and 27 in the 103-94 win in Orlando on 2 November. Their two wins in that stretch came on nights the defense held the opponent under 95.
Young is averaging 19.6 points and 9.5 assists, George 17.3 points and 4.3 rebounds, and AJ Dybantsa, the first pick in the draft, 16.5 points and 5.0 rebounds. Dybantsa went 3 of 13 in Atlanta, but he scored 19 in Cleveland on 28 October and has been a regular in the rotation since his debut that night.
Washington scores 111.4 points a game and allows 112.3, and it shoots 47.9% from the field and 32.4% from three. It made 18 of 34 threes in Atlanta, which was enough to stay in the game but not enough to cover for the defense without its center.
The rotation is thinner than the record suggests. Justin Champagnie had surgery on a broken right foot on 28 October, and Beekman, Vukcevic and Watkins, the last of them with a torn ACL, are also out. Davis’s ankle is the only one of the injuries with a chance of clearing up by Wednesday.

Our prediction: Washington Wizards to win
Washington took three of four from Indiana last season, and this Pacers roster is missing more than it was then: Haliburton, McConnell, Sheppard and Furphy are all out or close to it. Indiana’s 0-4 home record isn’t a fluke of scheduling either, since all four came against teams it would have expected to compete with.
The pick depends on Davis. With him, the Wizards have held Charlotte to 79 and Orlando to 94, and he gives them the best player on the floor. Without him, they gave up 139 in Atlanta, and I’d pass on the game entirely if he’s ruled out before tip-off.
No price had been posted when we wrote this. If Davis is confirmed and the Washington moneyline is 1.45 or above, that’s the bet I’d make; a close game is likely, so avoid laying points on the handicap.

About our free predictions
- What we publish on MathOdds are analyses, nothing more. We share a view, a reading of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport remains what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a last-minute goal, and the script changes completely.
- Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing ever is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s even inevitable at some point.
- The smartest approach is to stay reasonable. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Never use money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase your losses: that rarely ends well.
- A bet should remain a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking up too much space in your daily life, causes stress or frustration, take a break. And if needed, talk to a support organisation: that’s what they’re there for.
- Ultimately, responsibility lies with you. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, no matter how good the analysis.
- Essential reminder: gambling is prohibited for minors and must comply with the laws of your country. Need help? Visit begambleaware.org.
