Getafe vs Rayo Vallecano La Liga prediction

Getafe vs Rayo Vallecano – Free La Liga Prediction – 19/10/2026

Getafe vs Rayo Vallecano: a fixture that keeps ending goalless La Liga

Four of the last ten league meetings between Getafe and Rayo Vallecano have finished 0-0. Six of those ten ended level, Rayo won the other four, and Getafe haven’t beaten their Madrid neighbours in any of them.

That run frames Monday’s game at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez, which closes Matchday 9 of La Liga. Kick-off is at 8pm UK time. The two sides sit next to each other in the table on eight points: Rayo 13th after seven matches, Getafe 14th after eight.

The longer history leans the same way. Across 31 meetings, Rayo have won 14 and Getafe eight, with nine draws. The most recent of them went to Rayo, 2-0 at Getafe, and Getafe are without a win in the last five head-to-heads (two Rayo wins, three draws).

The two clubs arrive with very different scoring profiles. Getafe have scored four league goals in eight games and conceded ten. Rayo have scored 11 and conceded 16 in seven, so their matches are far more open, although nine of the goals they’ve let in came in two away games at Barcelona and Real Madrid.

We think the venue matters more than Rayo’s goal tally. Getafe haven’t lost at home this season and have collected all eight of their points at the Coliseum. Rayo have taken one point from four away trips. Put those two records next to a head-to-head full of goalless draws and the case for a low-scoring night is a strong one.

There’s also an off-field backdrop. Rayo’s home game against Athletic Club on 10 October was abandoned in the first half after fan protests against club president and owner Raul Martin Presa, which is why they have a game in hand. Their last completed league match was a 1-1 draw at Osasuna.

Getafe: unbeaten at home, but four goals in eight games Getafe

José Bordalás has built exactly the side his record suggests. Getafe’s league results read 1-0 defeat at Osasuna, 1-1 against Celta Vigo, 1-1 against Deportivo La Coruña, 1-0 defeat at Real Betis, a 1-0 win over Malaga and a 3-0 loss at Barcelona on 10 October. Of those six, only the Barcelona game featured more than two goals.

The home and away split is stark. All four league defeats have come on the road, while the Coliseum has produced eight points from four matches. At home Getafe don’t need to score much, because they rarely concede much either.

The attack remains the weak spot. Four goals in eight games works out at one every two matches, and Getafe failed to score in their last league outing in Barcelona. In midweek they needed an 81st-minute equaliser from Nemanja Gudelj to draw 1-1 at Universitatea Craiova in the Conference League, after Assad Al-Hamlawi had put the Romanians ahead on 59 minutes.

That European trip adds to a thin squad. Christantus Uche and Juanmi are out injured. Ivan Azón has been carrying physical discomfort, Enes Ünal’s availability is uncertain, Ramón Terrats is a major doubt with a shoulder problem and Zaid Romero is struggling with a left quadriceps strain picked up against Barcelona. Andrés García, forced off in the same game, will be assessed before kick-off.

With Azón and Ünal both in doubt, Borja Mayoral is the likeliest option up front. We’d expect Bordalás to keep the game narrow and physical, play for set-pieces and protect the point first, which is how Getafe have played every home game this season.

Rayo Vallecano: Camello scores, but one point from four away days Rayo Vallecano

Sergio Camello has seven La Liga goals already. That’s more than half of Rayo’s 11, and it makes him the one player on the pitch most likely to change the shape of this game.

The results around him have been mixed. Beñat San José’s side lost 5-2 at Barcelona and 4-1 at Real Madrid, beat Racing Santander 3-2 and Espanyol 2-1 at home, and drew 1-1 at Osasuna last time out. That’s 16 goals conceded in seven games, an average of more than two a match.

Away from Vallecas, the numbers drop sharply. Rayo have one draw and three defeats on the road, and two of those defeats were the heavy ones in Barcelona and Madrid. Their only away point came in the 1-1 draw at Osasuna.

The squad is also stretched at the back. Goalkeeper Augusto Batalla is out with a broken leg, so Emil Audero continues. Andrei Ratiu misses out with muscular discomfort, and Luis Felipe is out for the season with a torn ACL, having only just returned from a long hamstring layoff.

The abandoned Athletic game didn’t help either. Rayo have spent the week dealing with protests aimed at the club’s ownership, and their last full 90 minutes came at Osasuna. We don’t see a side in that position travelling to the Coliseum to chase the game.

Probable lineup Getafe: Soria; Carvajal, Djené, Valou, Davinchi; Gudelj, Serrano; Kiko, Martín, Satriano; Mayoral
Probable lineup Rayo Vallecano: Audero; Pedrosa, Lejeune, Sadick, Balliu; Valentín, Ciss, López; García, Camello, Frutos

Free La Liga Prediction: Getafe vs Rayo Vallecano

Our prediction: Both teams to score – No (1.75)

The match result market is close to a coin toss, with Getafe at 2.95, the draw at 3.10 and Rayo at 2.70. We don’t see an edge there. The goals market is where the evidence lines up: four 0-0 draws in the last ten meetings, a home side with four goals in eight league games, and an away side that has taken one point on the road.

Getafe have kept games tight at the Coliseum all season, with results of 1-0 and 1-1 the norm. Rayo’s 16 goals conceded are the one argument against us, but most of that damage came at Barcelona and Real Madrid, two attacks nothing like Getafe’s.

Camello is the danger, and a Rayo goal is entirely possible. For both teams to score, Getafe would also need to break down a defence when they’ve managed four goals all season and arrive with Azón, Ünal and Terrats all in doubt. We back at least one side to finish without a goal at 1.75.

About our free predictions

  • What we publish on MathOdds are analyses, nothing more. We share a view, a reading of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport remains what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a last-minute goal, and the script changes completely.
  • Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing ever is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s even inevitable at some point.
  • The smartest approach is to stay reasonable. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Never use money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase your losses: that rarely ends well.
  • A bet should remain a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking up too much space in your daily life, causes stress or frustration, take a break. And if needed, talk to a support organisation: that’s what they’re there for.
  • Ultimately, responsibility lies with you. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, no matter how good the analysis.
  • Essential reminder: gambling is prohibited for minors and must comply with the laws of your country. Need help? Visit begambleaware.org.

Information changes

A prediction is always based on what we know at the time of writing. But between publication and kick-off, a lineup can change, a player picks up an injury, the weather turns, and the analysis can quickly be outdated. We cannot be held responsible for that.
