A farewell worth remembering
Felipe Mora picked the right night to say goodbye. In what Portland announced as his final match for the club, the striker scored twice in the second half to carry the Timbers to a 2-1 win over a 10-man Real Salt Lake on Saturday.
Mora leaves as one of the more dependable scorers in recent Timbers history, and he closed the chapter the way he wrote most of it, by finishing when it mattered.

Ten men and a tilted field
Real Salt Lake spent much of the night a player short, and Portland made the numbers count after the break. Mora’s double turned a manageable evening into three points and sent the Providence Park crowd home with a proper send-off.
The visitors pushed for a leveler but never found a second goal, and the one-man disadvantage told across the full 90 minutes.
Portland turns the page
Mora’s exit leaves a gap up front that the Timbers will need to fill, but the timing handed supporters a clean memory rather than a slow fade. Few strikers get to walk away on a two-goal night.
