Atlanta pulls clear early
The Atlanta Dream turned a hot shooting night into a statement. Rhyne Howard drilled six 3-pointers on her way to 22 points, Angel Reese added 20 points and 14 rebounds, and Atlanta beat the Toronto Tempo 107-95 on Monday in College Park, Ga. The win lifted the Dream to 20-12 and into a first-place tie with the Indiana Fever atop the Eastern Conference.
Howard also handed out seven assists. Jordin Canada scored 20 with nine assists, Allisha Gray and Brionna Jones chipped in 15 apiece, and Atlanta built a lead that stretched to 25.

Mabrey keeps Toronto breathing
Marina Mabrey refused to let it become a rout. She poured in 36 points, buried a string of triples, and sparked a third-quarter push that trimmed a 25-point gap to 13. Kiki Rice added 18 and Isabelle Harrison 13 for the Tempo, who outscored Atlanta 20-8 over the final five-plus minutes of the third.
The rally carried into the fourth. Mabrey’s deep 3-pointer cut the margin to 82-74 with 8:54 left. Atlanta slammed the door. Howard answered with a triple, Reese scored inside, and the lead swelled back to 16.
Two teams heading opposite ways
Atlanta has won seven of nine and now shares the East lead, a position built on balance rather than one scorer. Five players reached double figures, and Reese’s 14 boards handed the Dream a decisive edge on the glass. This marked their fourth win in four tries against Toronto this season.
Toronto dropped a ninth straight. At 10-22, the expansion Tempo own the pieces, Mabrey’s scoring chief among them, but the losses keep stacking. Nine in a row tests a young roster. Brionna Jones’ layup with 1:07 left made it 105-93 and ended any lingering doubt.
