A right flank to rebuild
AC Milan have a gap to fill. Zachary Athekame has just left for Olympique Lyonnais, on loan for the 2026-2027 season. The right side now needs new legs, and the Rossoneri are already shopping around.
According to Sky Italia, one name keeps cropping up: Zakaria El Ouahdi. The Morocco full-back from Genk, born in 2001, is said to be among the options being assessed by Milan’s hierarchy. Nothing is done yet, but this one looks very much alive.
Try it for $0.99.
Genk sets the price
The Belgian club are not in any hurry to give him away. Genk are said to want between 13 and 15 million euros to let the player go. Milan will have to live with that figure if they want to push this deal forward.
He fits the brief. Young, international, and already seasoned in European competition with Genk, El Ouahdi ticks plenty of boxes. Now it is down to whether Milan move from interest to action.
A lead to keep an eye on
For now, nothing has been signed. This is still just a line put out by Sky Italia, and it should be treated with caution. But Athekame’s exit leaves Milan with no time to waste. Watch this one.
