Dragons vs Tigers – Free NRL Prediction – July 4, 2026

Dragons vs Tigers: a derby that could kick-start a season NRL

Super Saturday rolls on at Jubilee Stadium with a fixture that might look low-key at first glance, but it matters plenty.

With 10 rounds left in the regular season, every slip-up is getting pricier. The Tigers are still in the hunt for a Top 8 spot, while the Dragons are mainly trying to turn recent progress into something more tangible.

Different goals, same demand: bring home the two points.

Even in defeat to Canberra last week, the Dragons left the field with reasons to believe.

Over recent weeks, Dean Young’s side have looked more disciplined, more committed and far better at sticking in games until the finish. Against the Raiders, the Red V were in the contest for long spells before cracking at the key moments.

In many ways, that sums up their season.

The Dragons are far more competitive than they were earlier in the year, but they are still struggling to turn pressure into tries.

Clint Gutherson brings experience, Damien Cook keeps the ruck tempo high and Valentine Holmes can still flip a match with one flash of quality. Even so, this side still lacks the consistency needed to finish chances.

There is better news up front, though.

The Couchman brothers keep pushing on, Dylan Egan is growing in stature, while Hamish Stewart and Loko Pasifiki Tonga are also becoming more important by the week.

That young pack now gives the Dragons a real shot at matching most NRL sides physically.

What they still need is more punch inside the last 20 metres.

The narrow loss to the Knights left a lot of frustration behind.

The Tigers never completely fell apart, but they were sloppy when the game was there to be taken. Another wasted chance has made the finals push a lot harder.

With 10 games left, every week now feels like a knockout.

Jarome Luai’s absence is clearly a blow, given the impact he has made since arriving. But Benji Marshall still has enough to suggest a quick response is possible.

Api Koroisau remains the real conductor of this side. When he gets his passing game moving and the Tigers win the middle, they look a different team altogether.

Behind him, Jahream Bula keeps backing up the hype. Every time he touches the ball, the young fullback looks capable of causing trouble.

Alex Twal’s return also brings some much-needed stability in the middle of the pack, while Terrell May is quietly putting together a very strong season as the side’s main physical presence.

It may not be flashy every week, but this team does have more attacking options than the team across the park tonight.

Jahream Bula to score a try

Jahream Bula remains one of the Tigers’ most unpredictable weapons.

His pace, footwork and knack for popping up in broken play make him a constant threat, especially against a Dragons defence that has still shown cracks when forced to handle fast, direct attacks.

If the Tigers can pin the Dragons back, Bula should get chances to show why he is such a dangerous finisher.

First, a word on our predictions

  • What we publish on mathodds is analysis, nothing more. It is an opinion, a read on the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport is what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a goal out of nowhere… and the script changes completely.
  • Let’s be clear: there is no bet without risk. Even when something looks obvious, it never really is. And yes, that means you can lose. In fact, at some point, you will.
  • The best approach is to stay sensible. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Do not touch money you need to live on. And most of all: do not chase your losses, because that usually ends badly.
  • A bet should stay a game, not a job or a source of income. If you feel it is taking up too much space in your daily life, if it is annoying you or putting you under pressure, take a break. And if needed, speak to a specialist organisation. That is what they are there for.
  • At the end of the day, the responsibility is yours. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, even with the best analysis in the world.
  • Essential reminder: betting is illegal for minors and must follow the law in your country. Gambling can spiral fast (money losses, family tension, addiction). Need Help? Call 1-800-GAMBLER. In the UK? Visit https://www.gambleaware.org/https://www.gambleaware.org/.

No commitment from us

Our predictions are not a contract. They have no legal force. In plain English: you cannot use them to demand anything if a bet does not land.

Information changes

A prediction is always based on what we know when it is written. But in the meantime, a team sheet changes (like the Dragons’ one, for example), a player gets injured, the weather turns… and the analysis can quickly be out of date. We cannot be held responsible for that.

Your part

Before you bet, make sure gambling is legal where you are. If it is not, that is your responsibility, not ours.

Responsible gambling first

We cannot say it often enough: gamble in moderation. If you are struggling to keep control, do not wait to seek help. We cannot be responsible for compulsive or excessive use of the information published on the site.

Legal age

mathodds content is for adults only. By browsing here, you confirm you are of the legal age to bet.
