Denver Broncos vs Los Angeles Rams: two teams at 1 win, 1 loss, and a Sunday Night Football clash that should settle it 
Denver and Los Angeles come into this one with identical records through two weeks: one win, one loss. That kind of mirror image usually points to a tight game, especially when both sides still have plenty to prove.
The Broncos opened their season with a hammering at Arrowhead, losing 31-10 to Kansas City on 14 September. It was a rough start against the AFC West champs, though it hardly defines their season.
They bounced back a week later at home, where their defence held Jacksonville to 13 points in a 20-13 win. That response gave Denver a better platform before they welcome an opponent from the other conference.
The Rams, meanwhile, have gone the other way: a heavy 7-27 defeat to the 49ers in their season opener in Melbourne, a result that piled immediate pressure on Sean McVay’s group.
They answered in style a week later in Inglewood, putting 28-6 past the Giants and showing a far sharper edge on offence.
This Sunday Night Football game at Empower Field, set for 2:20am Paris time on Sunday night into Monday morning, will decide which side lands a second win and gets a bit of breathing room in the AFC and NFC West.
Denver’s altitude and the night-time setting add another wrinkle for a Rams team more used to standard West Coast kickoffs.
Denver Broncos: a defence that wiped away the Kansas City collapse 
The 31 points conceded at Arrowhead weighed heavily on the Broncos’ opening game, especially with Kansas City setting the tone from the first whistle.
A week later, that same defence allowed Jacksonville just 13 points, a clear improvement in late-game control and on third down.
The cornerback group has done plenty of the heavy lifting, with Patrick Surtain II and Riley Moss standing out as the unit’s bright spots through the first two weeks.
On offence, Denver still hasn’t put together a statement performance, but the win over the Jaguars came from a much cleaner plan than the one that collapsed against the Chiefs.
Ball security and cutting out turnovers made the difference across those first two outings, and Denver will need that again against a Rams attack that arrives with confidence restored.

Los Angeles Rams: Stafford answered back after the Melbourne mess 
The Rams managed only 7 points in their opener against the 49ers, a 7-27 defeat that put the pressure on immediately before the season had even got going.
Matthew Stafford hit back in the next game by picking apart the Giants, finishing 22 completions from 31 attempts for a success rate close to 71%.
That effort helped Los Angeles post 28 points, four times what they managed in Week 1, and gave some life back to an offence that had looked stuck in neutral.
Puka Nacua and Davante Adams remain Stafford’s main targets during this patchy offensive spell followed by a sharp rebound, and both will matter if the Rams are to stretch Denver’s defence.
The trip to Denver, with the altitude and the night setting, is a proper test of whether that offensive surge was real or just a one-off against a rebuilding Giants defence.
Los Angeles also need to clean up on defence after shipping 27 points to the 49ers in their first game if they want to leave Denver with a second straight win.

Both defences have already shown they can shut things down, with Denver allowing 13 points against the Jaguars and Los Angeles giving up just 6 against the Giants.
Neither offence has reached 30 points across the first two weeks, and playing at night in Denver, at altitude, usually slows down visiting teams used to a different time zone.
The bookmakers’ total has already been trimmed by several analysts before kick-off, which only backs up the idea of a defence-first game.
With two improving defences and two offences still searching for consistency, a tight, low-scoring Sunday night contest looks the most likely outcome.
The setting only strengthens that view: Denver fans will make plenty of noise, and the thin air tends to wear down visiting players quicker than those at sea level. Every possession should matter more than the flashy plays.
