“We’re close to the end”
Stephen Curry does not dodge the question anymore. Speaking to The New York Times, he said the Warriors’ run will finish at some point and that he carries the thought around. “There aren’t that many years ahead,” he said, adding that he and his teammates are mature enough to stay in the moment anyway.
Draymond Green, asked the same thing, took a longer pause. He does not believe the end is coming, but admitted he can never be sure. Steve Kerr was blunter. For about three years, he said, the thought has been that “this could be it”, so he savors every second with this group.

Telepathy, 14 seasons in
What keeps the core together is a shared language. Green calls his communication with Curry “telepathic” and says most teammates can build their own shorthand within a year. His took 14 seasons to master.
Curry is still producing like the clock is irrelevant. He has 115 points through the first four games of the season, the most for any player aged 38 or older, ahead of Kevin Durant’s 94, according to HoopsMatic. He also tied Mark Jackson for 38th on the all-time steals list with 1,608 in the win over Minnesota.
Curry’s own framing is the useful one. Knowing the finish line exists, he argued, only makes the urgency now more real.
