Thirty million, with a very specific structure
Como are done pretending. The Lombardy club have put a bid worth an estimated 30 million euros on Fiorentina’s desk for Moise Kean, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Break it down and it comes to a 5 million loan fee plus a 25 million obligation to buy. A neat enough way to spread the cost, and one that would give both sides some protection.
Except Fiorentina want more. As it stands, they do not think the offer is enough.
Try it for $0.99.
Nine goals in 33 games, and a striker who wants to go
The player is not standing in the way. The 26-year-old striker is said to be open to joining Cesc Fabregas’s side.
Last season he finished with nine goals and one assist in 33 games in all competitions, across 2,345 minutes. Decent, but hardly eye-catching for a player who has already passed through Juventus and PSG.
And he is already up and running. The Vercelli-born forward scored in Fiorentina’s win over Benevento in the Coppa Italia first round. Trying to sell a live striker in pre-season usually makes life awkward for the club doing the selling.
Como are building for Europe
The bigger picture matters. Como are preparing for the first Champions League matches in their history, and they have been recruiting accordingly all summer. Yan Couto and Luis Milla have already arrived, among others.
Kean would be the statement signing of the window. Now they just have to convince Florence, who have no reason to let their No 9 go cheaply with two weeks left in the transfer market.
