10 million on the table, and still a no
Olympiakos had it all lined up. A bid worth around 10 million euros. A wage package no Ligue 1 club could match. Toulouse had said yes.
Cristian Cásseres said no.
The 26-year-old Venezuela midfielder has no interest in Greece. It really is that simple. And that is enough to stall a deal Toulouse’s hierarchy thought was done, according to Les Violets, with the report backed up by Foot Mercato.
Try it for $0.99.
The contract that changes everything
There is one thing Toulouse will not entertain: letting Cásseres walk for nothing.
His deal runs until June 2027. In other words, in a few months he could start talking freely with whichever club he fancies. For a player of his value to leave on a free would be the kind of dead loss a club with TFC’s budget can ill afford.
So the club has taken control again. A strong extension offer has been put in front of the player’s camp. With a hard deadline attached.
The message is simple. Sign, or find a way out before the window shuts.
Ligue 1 is watching
There is interest in France. Lille checked in, then moved on.
Olympique Lyonnais have not dropped their interest. It all depends on Tanner Tessmann. If the American midfielder leaves, OL will move.
One week to decide. Right now, Cásseres holds the cards.
