Bodø/Glimt vs Lille: Ligue 1’s second-placed side still chasing a first European point
Lille are second in Ligue 1 and 35th of 36 in the Champions League. Friday’s 1-0 derby win over Lens, settled by Olivier Giroud in the 87th minute, moved Davide Ancelotti’s side up to second domestically, but they’re still waiting for a first point in Europe.
The next attempt comes on an artificial pitch in northern Norway. Bodø/Glimt host Lille at the Aspmyra Stadion on Tuesday 3 November, with kick-off at 20:00 UK time, in matchday 4 of the league phase.
We start from the European numbers. Lille have conceded ten goals in three league-phase games, including 3-0 at Arsenal on 13 October and 4-2 at home to Galatasaray eight days later. Bodø/Glimt have three points, all of them from a 1-0 home win over Borussia Dortmund on 14 October.
The two clubs have never met in competition. Bodø/Glimt’s league phase so far reads a 5-0 defeat at Bayern Munich, the Dortmund win and a 4-3 defeat at Napoli on 20 October, which leaves them 28th.
Domestically, Kjetil Knutsen’s side are second in the Eliteserien on 56 points, three behind leaders Viking. Their most recent game at Aspmyra, though, was a 1-0 defeat to Vålerenga on 24 October, only their second home league loss of the season.
Bodø/Glimt: the Dortmund win at Aspmyra and 12 league goals from Helmersen
The Dortmund game is the template for Tuesday. Fredrik Sjøvold scored after 52 minutes and Bodø/Glimt kept Dortmund out for the remaining 38 plus stoppage time.
Napoli six days later went the other way. Bodø/Glimt scored three times in Naples and still lost 4-3, with Scott McTominay scoring twice for the hosts and Odin Bjørtuft turning in an 88th-minute own goal.
Andreas Helmersen has 12 league goals this season and leads the line. Jens Petter Hauge and Ole Blomberg are expected on either side of him, with Patrick Berg, Sondre Auklend and Sondre Brunstad Fet in midfield.
The Vålerenga defeat is the one mark against recent home form. Lucas Ravn-Haren scored after 65 minutes and Bodø/Glimt couldn’t reply, following a 2-0 win at HamKam earlier in the month.
Knutsen’s back four should be the one that started against Dortmund: Sjøvold and Fredrik Bjørkan at full-back, Jostein Gundersen and Haitam Aleesami in the middle, with Nikita Haikin in goal. After Lille, their next league-phase home game is LASK on 24 November.

Lille: second in Ligue 1, ten goals conceded in three Champions League games
Ancelotti’s side have lost all three league-phase games, and goals against have been the pattern. At the Emirates they conceded three times in seven second-half minutes, and at home to Galatasaray two goals from Soriba Diaoune weren’t enough.
The domestic form is sounder. Lille had 15 points from eight Ligue 1 games before the derby, with four wins, three draws and one defeat, and Friday’s win over Lens lifted them to second.
Giroud’s late winner followed a 1-1 draw with Brest on 17 October and a 1-1 at Monaco on 25 October. In Monaco, Lille played the last stretch with ten men after Tanguy Nianzou’s 66th-minute red card.
Goals have been spread around the squad. Ayase Ueda, Dilane Bakwa and Ethan Mbappé have two league goals each, and Mbappé scored the opener at Monaco.
Lille played on Friday night, so there are four days between the derby and kick-off in Bodø, with a long flight in between. Their next Champions League fixture after this one is Bayern Munich at home on 25 November.
Probable lineup Bodø/Glimt: Haikin; Sjøvold, Gundersen, Aleesami, Bjørkan; Auklend, Berg, Fet; Blomberg, Helmersen, Hauge
Probable lineup Lille: Not announced at time of publication

Our prediction: Bodø/Glimt to win (odds 1.92)
We’re taking Bodø/Glimt at 1.92. Lille have lost all three league-phase games and conceded ten goals, and the hosts beat Dortmund 1-0 on this pitch three weeks ago.
The Vålerenga defeat on 24 October counts against the pick, and Lille’s Ligue 1 position shows they aren’t a weak side. We still give more weight to three straight European defeats than to a run of draws and narrow wins in France.
Bodø/Glimt scored three times at Napoli and need points before LASK visit on 24 November. For readers who’d rather not pick a winner, over 2.5 goals is available at 1.50.

About our free predictions
- What we publish on MathOdds are analyses, nothing more. We share a view, a reading of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport remains what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a last-minute goal, and the script changes completely.
- Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing ever is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s even inevitable at some point.
- The smartest approach is to stay reasonable. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Never use money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase your losses: that rarely ends well.
- A bet should remain a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking up too much space in your daily life, causes stress or frustration, take a break. And if needed, talk to a support organisation: that’s what they’re there for.
- Ultimately, responsibility lies with you. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, no matter how good the analysis.
- Essential reminder: gambling is prohibited for minors and must comply with the laws of your country. Need help? Visit begambleaware.org.
