Bijan Robinson Atlanta Falcons highest-paid running back extension

NFL: Bijan Robinson lands record running back deal

Atlanta makes its back the highest paid in the game

The Falcons paid up. Bijan Robinson agreed on Tuesday to a three-year extension worth up to $75 million, a deal that resets the market for running backs and ties the 24-year-old to Atlanta through 2030.

The numbers land him at the top. Robinson will average $22.25 million a year, pushing past Saquon Barkley’s $20.6 million, and the contract carries $51 million in guarantees. For a position clubs spent years devaluing, that is a statement.

Why Atlanta paid the premium

Robinson earned it on the field. He led the NFL in scrimmage yards last season with 2,298 and finished fourth in rushing at 1,478, numbers that made him the engine of the Atlanta offense rather than a complementary piece.

The two-time Pro Bowler and 2025 All-Pro now anchors the young core the Falcons are building around. Locking him in before his fourth season removes any threat of a holdout and hands the offense its centerpiece for the rest of the decade.
