Five matches into his Premier League life, Mohamed Belloumi has two goals and two assists. Hull City lean on the 24-year-old Algerian every week and he starts every week, which is not the usual arrangement for a newly promoted side’s summer business.

Lakhdar Belloumi has decided to say the quiet part loudly. The Algerian great told the outlet WinWin that his son has already outgrown Hull.
“At the level Bachir is showing right now, he deserves to play for a bigger team. Clubs fighting for domestic and continental titles, like Barca, Real, PSG, Marseille or City,” he said.
There is no offer attached to any of that. None of the clubs named have made a known approach. A father gave an interview, the interview got published, and that is the entire story so far.
A name the winter window will keep hearing
The timing suits the player. A forward scoring for a club near the foot of the table always gets noticed as January comes into view, and a Marseille connection from his past will keep the conversation going by itself.
Hull have no reason whatsoever to sell. They came up this summer and they need the players who are keeping them competitive to still be there in March.
