Two up at the break, hanging on at the end
Bayern Munich have their first trophy of the season, and they earned it the hard way, 2-1 at Signal Iduna Park on Saturday night.
Nathaniel Brown got the opener on 28 minutes, his first competitive goal since joining. Michael Olise made it two in first-half stoppage time. Dortmund had not tested Manuel Neuer in any meaningful way by then.
Niko Kovac changed that after the interval. Fabio Silva, on for Serhou Guirassy, pulled one back on 75. Konstantelias came inside, Svensson flicked it on, and the Portuguese finished from around the spot.

Fifteen minutes of chaos
Neuer nearly threw it away in the 89th. Jude Bellingham robbed him in possession and the keeper had to dive at his feet to fix his own mistake.
Then came the moment Dortmund will replay all week. Second minute of stoppage time, Veerman slid a ball through to Beier, alone in the box. The touch got away from him, the ball sat up, and his side-footed effort cleared the crossbar. The away end was already celebrating.
Dortmund finished a man light. Ramy Bensebaini went off on 90 for a challenge that caught Jonathan Tah’s ankle. The Algeria defender had asked to be substituted minutes earlier, but Kovac had already used all five changes and had nothing left to give him.
Olise keeps doing this
The French winger scored, nearly made it three in the 87th when Dortmund lost him at a set piece, and generally looked like the most dangerous player on the pitch. Since arriving in Bavaria he has been producing this roughly every week.
Bayern finished last season on 89 Bundesliga points, 16 clear of Dortmund. Saturday suggested that gap is not closing. Vincent Kompany opens year two with silverware, Kovac heads home with a red card and a missed sitter.
