A number the club has never posted before
One billion euros. FC Barcelona have passed that mark in season revenue for the first time in their history, according to Sport, with the accounts due to be formally presented at the General Assembly on 19 September.
It does not arrive on its own. This is a third consecutive year in the black, which reads oddly against the recent past of mounting losses and TV rights sold off in chunks simply to make payroll. Going back to Spotify Camp Nou and taking the stadium operation back in house did most of the heavy lifting. Playing at home means ticketing, hospitality and matchday commercial income all land in the club’s account. During the rebuild, Barcelona were locked out of every one of those revenue lines.

What the socios are actually voting on
The agenda runs deeper than rubber-stamping a set of numbers. Delegated socios will be asked to sign off the 2026-2027 budget and to approve an extension of the credit line funding Espai Barca and the Camp Nou works. The billion-euro headline, in other words, lands the same afternoon the board asks for more borrowing to finish the project.
The assembly will also ratify several directors who stayed in post rather than resigning to run at the last election, Rafael Yuste and Josep Cubells among them. Joan Laporta won that vote on 15 March, and his new board took office on 1 July.
Brought forward, and held online
The meeting normally falls in late October. It has been moved up to stop two assemblies bunching together and to avoid paying for both. It will run remotely, a choice vice-president Elena Fort is defending: “We have decided to keep the online format to guarantee the highest possible participation from the socios.”
A question-and-answer session is scheduled. Members will get to press the board on the accounts and on when the construction actually finishes. The billion will get plenty of airtime. The Espai Barca debt is what people will really want answers about.
