The Fever had this one. Up three with seven seconds left in regulation, the ball in Caitlin Clark’s hands, Indiana looked set to close out the defending champions on the road. Then Chelsea Gray happened. She buried a three at the buzzer to force overtime, and the whole night flipped.
Las Vegas won it 86-84 on Thursday, and Gray wrote the ending. Her second dagger, another three as the clock expired in the extra period, dropped the Fever and handed the Aces the three-game season series. A few minutes earlier that outcome looked absurd. Vegas had trailed by 20 in the first half.
Clark, so often the one delivering these moments, ended up on the wrong side of them. She missed two free throws with seven seconds left in regulation that would have iced it, then lost the ball with seven seconds to go in overtime and Indiana ahead by one.

Wilson and Young carried the comeback
A’ja Wilson finished with 26 points and 13 rebounds, and her fingerprints were on the defensive stop that mattered most. She smothered Clark on the final possession of overtime and forced the turnover that set up Gray’s winner.
Jackie Young did the heavy lifting through the middle of the game. She scored 22, including a franchise-record 15 in a row that bridged the end of the first half and the start of the third quarter. That stretch dragged Vegas back from a deficit that had the road crowd dreaming.

The Aces have now taken all three meetings with Indiana this season, a marker that carries weight as the playoff race tightens. For the Fever, another narrow loss to Las Vegas stings, and Clark’s late stumbles will draw the noise even if the rest of her night held up.
