Philadelphia Eagles vs Los Angeles Rams – Free NFL Prediction – 04/10/2026

Philadelphia Eagles vs Los Angeles Rams: home underdogs for the first time since 2023 NFL

The Eagles are a home underdog. That has not happened at Lincoln Financial Field since Week 13 of the 2023 season.

The Los Angeles Rams visit Philadelphia on Sunday 4 October in Week 4 of the NFL season. Kick-off is at 19:00 Paris time (1:00 p.m. ET), live on FOX.

The records do not explain the line. Philadelphia are 2-1 and the Rams are 1-2.

The injury report does. DeVonta Smith, Zack Baun and Dallas Goedert are all set to miss out for Philadelphia, a week after a 27-7 beating in Chicago on Monday night.

The Rams have holes of their own, with Aaron Donald ruled out and Myles Garrett on injured reserve. But they get Puka Nacua back, and the market has moved hard their way.

Winners and Whiners lists Los Angeles at -3.5 with a total of 42.5, after the line moved through the key number of three. All four Philadelphia Inquirer writers picked the Rams, every one of them by double digits.

Philadelphia Eagles Analysis Philadelphia Eagles

Philadelphia started 2-0, then fell apart in Chicago. The 27-7 loss on Monday night left Jalen Hurts asking his locker room a blunt question: “Who are we?”

The defense cracked too. A miscommunication handed Kalif Raymond a 41-yard touchdown, and Cooper DeJean admitted there is not enough talking on the field right now.

Now the offense loses its main target. DeVonta Smith has a hamstring injury and is not expected to play, after commanding a 32.9% target share through three games.

Goedert is still out with a knee problem, Hollywood Brown (ankle) and tackle Fred Johnson (knee) are on the report, and Baun remains in the concussion protocol. Dontayvion Wicks steps into a bigger role at receiver.

The obvious plan is Saquon Barkley. With fewer reliable pass catchers, the Eagles have to win early downs on the ground and stay out of obvious passing situations.

Protection has already been an issue for Hurts this season. Asking him to carry this offense without Smith and Goedert is a big ask against any defense.

Los Angeles Rams Analysis Los Angeles Rams

The Rams are 1-2, but the tape is better than the record. They let a second-half lead slip in Denver last week and lost 30-26.

Matthew Stafford threw for 390 yards in that game. He also threw 55 passes, and that is not a formula Sean McVay wants to repeat.

The big boost is Puka Nacua. He returns after missing two games with hip and groin injuries, and since he was drafted in 2023 the Rams have averaged 6.1 yards per play with him on the field against 5.1 without him.

With Nacua next to Davante Adams, Stafford has two receivers who can win one-on-one. Philadelphia, without Smith, has nobody at that level this week.

The defense is where the Rams are vulnerable. Aaron Donald, back from retirement after training camp, is out with a back injury, and Myles Garrett is on injured reserve with a knee problem.

Tight end Terrance Ferguson (ankle) and cornerback Jaylen Watson (shoulder) are also out. Still, the Rams’ absences sit mostly on defense, while Philadelphia’s hit the exact players Hurts relies on.

Probable lineup Philadelphia Eagles: QB Jalen Hurts, RB Saquon Barkley, WR Dontayvion Wicks (DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert and Zack Baun expected out)
Probable lineup Los Angeles Rams: QB Matthew Stafford, WR Puka Nacua, WR Davante Adams (Aaron Donald, Terrance Ferguson and Jaylen Watson out, Myles Garrett on IR)

Our prediction: Los Angeles Rams to win (odds 1.54)

The Rams win in Philadelphia. The injury gap is too wide: the Eagles lose their top target, their starting tight end and their defensive signal-caller in the same week.

Stafford gets Nacua back next to Adams, and the Rams gain a full yard per play when Nacua is on the field. Philadelphia can lean on Barkley, but a one-dimensional offense coming off a 27-7 loss is not one to trust.

Back the Rams moneyline at 1.54 (-185 at Winners and Whiners). For a bigger price, Rams -3.5 is available at 1.89.

About our free predictions

  • What we publish on MathOdds are analyses, nothing more. We share a view, a reading of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport remains what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a last-minute goal, and the script changes completely.
  • Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing ever is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s even inevitable at some point.
  • The smartest approach is to stay reasonable. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Never use money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase your losses, that rarely ends well.
  • A bet should remain a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking up too much space in your daily life, causes stress or frustration, take a break. And if needed, talk to a support organisation: that’s what they’re there for.
  • Ultimately, responsibility lies with you. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, no matter how good the analysis.
  • Essential reminder: gambling is prohibited for minors and must comply with the laws of your country. Need help? Visit begambleaware.org.

Information changes

A prediction is always based on what we know at the time of writing. But between publication and kick-off, a lineup can change, a player picks up an injury, the weather turns, and the analysis can quickly be outdated. We cannot be held responsible for that.
