Two starts to the season, and they could hardly have looked more different. Kansas City are 2-0. Miami are still searching for their first win after two weeks of action.
The Chiefs hammered Denver 31-10 in their opener, a statement on both sides of the ball as they began the defence of their AFC crown.
They then edged Indianapolis 33-30 in the money period, with Patrick Mahomes throwing for 382 yards in a game that turned out to be much tighter than expected.
The Miami Dolphins, by contrast, have lost both of their opening games without getting beyond 13 points, falling 27-13 to the Raiders in Week 1 before a 35-13 defeat in San Francisco the following week.
This one is at Hard Rock Stadium, with kick-off set for 19:00 Paris time, in front of a home crowd already hoping for a spark before the season drifts too far away from them.
For Miami, this is arriving at a point where the gap between preseason ambition and what is actually happening on the field is starting to open up, week by week.

The Chiefs have made a clean start, going two from two against opponents who were no pushovers.
Their defence set the tone first, holding Denver to just 10 points in Week 1, a number that turned heads.
Mahomes then followed that with a 382-yard passing display against Indianapolis in a 33-30 finish where every possession mattered twice over.
Kenneth Walker III, who has already shown up in a Kansas City shirt from the opening week, has 369 total rushing yards across the first two games, including a personal best of 173 on the ground against Denver.
That mix of passing threat and run game makes the Chiefs one of the most complete offences in the league this early in the season, and it is not exactly ideal for a Dolphins defence already under strain.
The contrast between the two sides is pretty clear: two convincing wins against two straight defeats. That is the shape of this game before a ball is even kicked.
The question is whether Kansas City handles this trip to Florida with the same discipline it has shown so far, or whether a little slackness after such a controlled start opens the door for a Dolphins side desperate to put things right in front of its own fans.
