Feyenoord vs FC Utrecht: seven goals last week, still no home win 
Feyenoord thrashed PEC Zwolle 7-0 a week ago. The same Feyenoord still has not won a single game at De Kuip this season.
That contradiction sums up the seventh round of the Eredivisie, with the Rotterdam side back in action on Sunday at 12:15 CET against FC Utrecht.
Third on 14 points after six matches, Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s men can go top for now with a win, before AZ Alkmaar and PSV play.
Utrecht sit 14th with just five points, but they have at least picked up their first win of the campaign.
It took six league games for them to get there, after a poor start on the road at Groningen, where they lost 2-1.
The head-to-head is heavily one-sided: Feyenoord have won eight of the last 10 meetings, including seven of the last eight.
There is one twist, though: Feyenoord’s two home games this season have both ended 2-2. Goals are never hard to find when this side plays at home.
The numbers back that up. Feyenoord’s last five outings, and Utrecht’s last five as well, have all gone over 2.5 goals.
With 20 goals so far, the Rotterdam side have the second-best attack in the league, behind only PSV.
Feyenoord must finally win at De Kuip 
The 5-1 hammering at Barcelona in their Champions League opener ended a 19-match unbeaten run in all competitions.
The response was brutal: a 7-0 rout of Zwolle, with a hat-trick from Nacho Ferri and a brace for Anis Hadj Moussa.
Their league form away from home remains solid, with wins at Sparta Rotterdam, Cambuur and NEC Nijmegen.
The problem is at home. Feyenoord have drawn 2-2 with Go Ahead Eagles and ADO The Hague, making it four draws in their last five matches at De Kuip stretching back to last season.
That run of home draws is the oddity of their season so far, especially for a team that has scored five at Cambuur and three at Nijmegen on the road.
The gap between the two versions of Feyenoord is too sharp to be structural. It looks more like the quirks of those two home games than any deep issue.
Gjivai Zechiel is the in-form man in attack, with five goals and three assists in six appearances, the best return in the league.
Nacho Ferri followed him up with that hat-trick in Zwolle, while Anis Hadj Moussa added a double.
De Kuip will be full on Sunday, which leaves little excuse for a team that has yet to win there this season.
Van Bronckhorst is without Bart Nieuwkoop, Gijs Smal, Jakub Moder, Thomas Beelen and Jordan Bos, so the back line and left flank have both been heavily reshaped.
That injury list goes some way to explaining the defensive wobble at home. It has not stopped the attack from clicking.
A win on Sunday would put Feyenoord top for now, before AZ Alkmaar host Telstar and PSV go to Enschede.

Utrecht ship goals, but they always score 
Anthony Correia replaced Ron Jans this summer and had to wait six matches before finally landing his first win, a 2-1 success at Excelsior.
Dani De Wit snatched it in the dying seconds, backing up his improved form after also scoring against Go Ahead Eagles.
The defensive numbers are ugly: 4-1 against AZ, 3-3 at Sparta Rotterdam, 6-1 against PSV, 3-3 against Go Ahead Eagles.
Four of those six matches have produced at least four goals. This team does not know how to shut a game down.
Up front, though, they keep themselves alive. Artem Stepanov has scored in five straight league games and is carrying the attack almost on his own.
Correia is also juggling absences, with Noah Ohio, Alonzo Engwanda, Kevin Paredes, Miliano Jonathans and Victor Jensen all missing.
One historical angle still stands out. Utrecht won 2-1 in Rotterdam in January last year, their first away win there since another 2-1 in August 2014.
That ended Feyenoord’s run of five straight wins in this fixture, and their seven-match unbeaten streak.
So yes, it was a rare statistical blip, and backing Utrecht to do it again so soon would be a serious stretch.

Our prediction: Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals
Feyenoord have both scored and conceded in both of their home games this season, and both finished 2-2. The pattern keeps repeating.
Utrecht concede plenty, with a 6-1 loss and two 3-3 draws already on the books, but they still find a way through thanks to Stepanov, who has scored in five straight league matches.
Backing Feyenoord to win only at 1.28 offers little value. The both-teams-to-score market at 1.80 fits much better with what these sides have been producing over the last six weeks.
Utrecht have scored in five of their six league matches, including all three defeats. This is a team that rarely leaves empty-handed in attack.
Over 1.5 goals is priced at 1.08, which tells you the market is not expecting a cagey one.
