Two touchdowns in the final quarter
Texas Tech won 35-24 in Corvallis on Saturday night. The Red Raiders were down 24-21 with 13:23 left after a 34-yard field goal from Caleb Ojeda.
Will Hammond took control from there. With 6:31 to play, he hit Coy Eakin for 32 yards to put Texas Tech back in front. The quarterback finished 20 of 27 for 189 yards.
Thomas Castellanos sealed it with 1:03 left, connecting with Matt Ludwig for an eight-yard score. Texas Tech moves to 2-0.

A game that changed hands five times
The first quarter ended scoreless. Castellanos got the Beavers off the mark on a seven-yard run at 7:35 of the second. Ten seconds later, Braden Atkinson found Jesse Legree for 75 yards. Level again.
Cameron Dickey put the Red Raiders back ahead just before the break, punching in from one yard out after an 11-play, 73-yard drive. 14-7.
Oregon State answered with an unusual play in the third quarter: running back AJ Newberry threw a four-yard pass to Atkinson. Texas Tech restored its lead through a 38-yard run from J’Koby Williams, making it 21-13 at 8:05. Atkinson then found Legree for a second time, this time from 37 yards out, before converting the two-point try to draw level again.
The Beavers pile up the yards and still lose
Oregon State outgained Texas Tech 472 yards to 351. The problem was on the ground: just 69 yards on 21 carries. On the other side, Williams led all rushers with 116 yards on 20 attempts.
Atkinson completed 29 of 49 passes for 399 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Legree caught eight balls for 240 yards and two touchdowns, a total most receivers in Division I can only dream of on any given week.
The Beavers drop to 0-2. Last week they also pushed No. 23 Houston hard before falling 33-20. Two shots at a ranked team, two late collapses.
