Levante UD vs FC Barcelona: four wins in four league games meets five goals in one wild night 
FC Barcelona are on 12 points from 12 after four rounds of La Liga, with 17 goals scored and only two conceded. No other club in Spain comes close.
Levante have five points and sit 11th, bang in mid-table. Kick-off for this fifth-round match is on Sunday 13 September at 16:15, Spanish time, at the Ciutat de Valncia.
Levante’s record has a strange quirk worth flagging: all five of their goals this season came in the same match. That was on 29 August, a stunning 5-2 comeback against Real Betis.
Across the other three games, their attacking tally stayed stuck at zero, including the 0-0 draw at Malaga on 6 September. A team that can blow up once and then vanish the next week is tough to trust.
Barcelona, meanwhile, are coming off back-to-back statements: a 5-0 win at Valencia’s Mestalla, then a 5-1 rout of Feyenoord in their Champions League opener last Wednesday. Ten goals in two games. That sets the tone.
One stat is even more striking ahead of this trip: the Catalans have scored 10 away goals this season without conceding a single one. The gap is already obvious, though this still has plenty of appeal for goal count punters.
Another number shows just how one-sided this is: Levante have conceded one penalty this season and won none, while Barcelona have converted theirs and never given one away.
The weather in Valencia is forecast to be close to 30 degrees at kick-off. That mid-afternoon slot can drag the pace down, which may suit a side happy to sit deep.

Five points from four games, one win, two draws and one defeat: Luis Castro’s side have the look of a cautious promoted team. Five scored, five conceded, perfectly level.
The 5-2 win over Betis is still the headline act of their season. Roger Brugue scored twice, with Adrian de la Fuente, Eddi Bardeli and Jon Olasagasti also getting on the sheet against a side that had beaten Real Madrid not long before.
That night showed what Levante can do when an opponent leaves space between the lines. The problem is that three of their other matches brought no goals at all.
At home, the numbers are more encouraging: five scored and two conceded at the Ciutat de Valncia. So there is at least a bit of reason for the home crowd to expect something better than a token appearance.
Roger Brugue remains the main threat with his two goals, both of them in that one big night against Betis. Karl Etta Eyong has been out since 4 September with an injury to his right thigh and is not expected back until the end of the month.
The worrying part is the defensive data: 58 shots conceded in four games, including 22 on target. Against an attack that has already put 36 of 84 attempts on target, that kind of volume is a real problem.
The set-piece numbers tell the same story: 15 corners won and 23 conceded across four matches. Levante are spending more time on the back foot than they should.
Even so, Luis Castro has a near full squad to choose from. Beyond Etta Eyong, only Alejandro Primo, sidelined with a shoulder problem since April, is a doubt for this one.

FC Barcelona: away form that is close to perfect 
Four matches, four wins, 17 goals scored and two conceded. Hansi Flick’s side have made the best start in Spain’s top flight.
Raphinha leads the scoring charts with six goals in four games, one of them from the spot. Lamine Yamal and Fermin Lopez are next on four each, which tells you how many different ways this side can hurt you.
The trip to Mestalla was a showcase: 5-0 against Valencia, with a Yamal brace, plus goals from Fermin Lopez, Raphinha and Pedri. Barcelona made it look easy, and then some.
The away numbers are the clearest warning sign for Levante: 10 goals scored, none conceded, 36 shots taken and 17 on target. The defending has been as sharp as the finishing.
Three absences are confirmed for Barcelona. Frenkie de Jong has been out since 4 July with a knee problem and is not expected back until early October, while Roony Bardghji is ruled out until March after an ACL injury suffered on 10 August.
The real question is rotation. Spanish football writers are already talking up the chances of Pau Cubarsi, Pedri and Rodri getting a breather after the Champions League trip, which could change the look of the side without really changing their scoring threat.
The numbers behind Barcelona’s dominance are ridiculous: 84 shots attempted in four league games, with just 26 against them. That’s a near three-to-one split and a big reason for the goal difference.
They have also won 26 corners and conceded 14. Barcelona spend long spells camped in the opposition half, and most teams cannot live with that for more than 45 minutes.

Ten goals scored and none conceded in two away league games is the away record Barcelona bring to the Ciutat de Valncia. This is not a fluke of the schedule: both wins came by clear margins.
Levante have allowed 58 shots in four games and have scored in only one of them, that Betis match. Against an attack led by Raphinha’s six goals and Yamal’s four, that kind of imbalance usually gets punished.
The call is clear: Barcelona should do more than just edge it. Take FC Barcelona with a minus-one handicap.
The only real doubt is rotation after Wednesday’s European trip. But Barcelona’s squad depth has rarely dragged down their attacking output this season.
