Osasuna vs Getafe : two teams built to shut the game down 
Getafe have scored 0.7 goals per match in their last six away league games. That number fits this Monday night clash at El Sadar perfectly.
The match kicks off on Monday 31 August at 19:30, closing out round three in La Liga. Osasuna have four points, Getafe three, and both clubs come into this one after a summer of change.
Luis Miguel Ramis replaced Alessio Lisci on the Navarre side in June 2026, with one clear job: avoid a repeat of last season. Osasuna finished 17th and stayed up only on goal difference, ahead of Mallorca.
Jose Bordalas, meanwhile, has taken Getafe back to Europe. Last season’s seventh-place finish earned them a Conference League spot, sealed last Thursday after a play-off against Partizan.
Getafe reach the European stage the hard way
Even after a 2-1 defeat in Belgrade, the Azulones got over the line thanks to a 3-1 first-leg win.
A 4-3 aggregate victory gives the Spanish club a valuable place in the next stage of the competition.
Their first return since 2020
That qualification marks a proper return to continental football for the Madrid suburb club.
Getafe had not played in Europe since their Europa League run in 2019-2020, which ended in the last 16 against Inter Milan.
This European schedule comes at a cost: Getafe go from Belgrade to Pamplona in four days. Keeping legs fresh is now a major issue for Bordalas.
Tactically, this should be decided by set pieces and by Osasuna’s ability to make their aerial dominance count. Both managers lean on structure first, and the attacking output suffers at both ends.

Osasuna started with a 0-0 draw against Levante at El Sadar, allowing just two shots on target. Ramis’ first message was obvious: get organised at the back.
The trip to Balaidos brought a completely different story. Trailing at the break, the Navarre side turned it around after Marcos Alonso was sent off in the 51st minute.
Kike Barja equalised three minutes after the red card, then Ante Budimir converted a penalty 10 minutes later. The 2-1 win was Ramis’ first as manager.
It still needs context, though: Osasuna played 11 against 10 for 40 minutes. They have yet to prove they can really control a full-strength opponent.
At home, they do have a strong recent record in this exact fixture. Their last two home league games against Getafe both ended in wins, 2-1 in October 2025 and 3-2 in January 2024.
On the injury front, Valentin Rosier is still working his way back from a right hamstring problem. Centre-back Rockson Yeboah is still waiting for his paperwork to be sorted before he can be registered.
Ramis has already switched between a back four and a back five this season. The 4-4-2 used against Levante looks like his natural home setup at El Sadar, with Jonathan Dubasin and Raul Garcia up front.

Getafe : European qualification comes at a price 
Getafe opened their league season with a 3-0 defeat at Alaves, after Kiko Femenia was sent off in the first half. All three goals came after the 70th minute.
They bounced back a week later against Racing Santander, winning 1-0 thanks to an Enes Unal goal in the 81st minute. That says plenty about this team’s current identity.
Unal has been Bordalas’ main attacking outlet since returning to the club. The Turkey striker has scored in three straight appearances across league and European action.
Away form remains the big worry. Just two wins from their last six away La Liga matches, at 0.7 goals per game, sums up Getafe’s problems on the road.
Christantus Uche is still out after cruciate ligament surgery during pre-season. Juanmi Jimenez is also continuing his recovery from a knee injury.
Femenia has now served his ban and is back in contention, giving them another option on the right side of a back three. Zaid Romero, Djene Dakonam and Saba Sazonov are fighting for the central spots.
Returning to Europe also changes how Bordalas manages the squad over a longer stretch. He now has two games a week to juggle, which this club has not had to deal with since 2019-2020.
The Unal-Satriano partnership should be kept in place up front, with both starting in the week’s two biggest matches. Bordalas is backing experience over freshness against Osasuna.

Getafe have scored 0.7 goals per game in their last six away league outings and have won only once this season, by an 81st-minute goal. Osasuna, for their part, began with a 0-0 draw and gave up just two shots on target.
The schedule only strengthens that view. Getafe are back from a European play-off in Belgrade on Thursday and will quite naturally look to protect a draw rather than throw bodies forward.
Osasuna’s only two goals this season have come with a man advantage, so a goal fest is hardly on the cards. The call is clear: a tight match with fewer than three goals.
