An agreement and a plane
Joaquin Oso is expected in France later today. The Spanish full-back is on his way to wrap up his move to RC Strasbourg. According to El Chiringuito, the 23-year-old has given the green light to the Alsace club and is leaving Sevilla FC in a deal worth an estimated 10 million euros before add-ons.
Only the medical and the final bits of paperwork remain. Nothing at this stage looks like a real problem.
Oso can cover several roles down the left. Strasbourg wanted exactly that after Valentin Barco’s exit to Chelsea left that flank wide open.

He scored and set one up on the way out the door
The Spaniard arrives off the back of a decent final showing. In Sevilla’s 3-1 win over Athletic Bilbao, he got on the scoresheet and provided an assist. A performance that stood out in La Liga, days before his departure.
He becomes Strasbourg’s 13th signing of the summer. Twelve players have already walked through the door to kick off Hugo Oliveira’s new era. The exits have been just as heavy: Diego Moreira, Abdoul Ouattara, Emanuel Emegha, Julio Enciso.
Forty players is not a squad, it is a waiting room
Eighth last season, Strasbourg have ripped things up again. On the pitch, the response has not followed. Racing shipped four goals at Marseille in their opener and failed to score at all.
The squad still has around 40 players in it, a number that is never going to work for long. More movement is expected before Tuesday, in both directions.
Oso fills one hole. He does not fix the rest.
