Frosinone have played three opening Serie A fixtures in their history and lost all three, never picking up a single point. Their fourth crack comes this Sunday, 23 August, at 18:30 at the Stadio Benito Stirpe, against Juventus.
The contrast with the visitors is stark. The Bianconeri have lost only two of their last 15 league openers and have kept six clean sheets in the last seven.
Juventus, though, arrive with baggage. Just five points from their final five matches of the 2025-26 season cost them a top-four finish, with a draw in the derby against Torino on the last weekend.
The result is simple: the Turin club will be in the Europa League, not the Champions League, this season. Luciano Spalletti has still kept his job.
Frosinone, meanwhile, came back up at the second attempt, finishing one point behind Venezia, the Serie B champions. Massimiliano Alvini built that promotion on home form: 12 wins in 19 games at the Stirpe.
The head-to-head record, however, tells its own story. The Ciociari have lost five of their last six Serie A meetings with Juventus, conceding at least two goals each time.
One final stat frames the tie: Juventus have gone unbeaten in 19 of their last 20 matches against a promoted side. That regularity points the way for the Juventus call.

Massimiliano Alvini has built promotion around the Stirpe, with 12 wins in 19 home matches. That is the base the club will lean on if they are to avoid an immediate drop back to Serie B, as happened after the 2023 rise.
The team’s trademark is clear from dead-ball situations. Frosinone scored 29 goals from set pieces in Serie B, including 14 from corners, the best total in the division.
Their attack rests on two standout numbers. Fares Ghedjemis scored 15 times in the second tier, while midfielder Giacomo Calo recorded 25 goal involvements, a league high.
The 2026 summer window has added some international quality. Austrians Florian Grillitsch and Romano Schmid have arrived, along with Patrizio Masini and Terzic.
The restart has produced mixed signals. After a defeat to local rivals Lazio at the end of pre-season, the Giallazzurri beat Juve Stabia 4-1 in the Coppa Italia, with Giorgi Kvernadze scoring twice and adding an assist.
Grillitsch and Terzic missed that cup game, but Seydou Fini is back from suspension for the visit of Juve. Alvini should have a fuller squad than he did last week.

Juventus missed out on the top four by five points, after collecting just five from their final five games last season. Spalletti, who arrived mid-campaign, has still been kept on for 2026-27.
Pre-season backed him up. After a 0-0 draw with Basel, the Bianconeri beat Standard Liege, Nice, Chelsea and Palermo, with only one defeat, against Inter.
The 2026 summer window was first and foremost about trimming the wage bill. Dusan Vlahovic, the biggest departure, left on a free when his contract expired.
The signings have focused on attacking depth and the right side. Kerim Alajbegovic is the most exciting arrival, Randal Kolo Muani has been brought back, and full-back Zeki Celik has joined from Roma.
The biggest change is in goal. Guglielmo Vicario is now the first-choice keeper ahead of Michele Di Gregorio, after a season in which Juve conceded with the opposition’s first shot on target in nearly half their league matches.
Two doubts remain in the squad. Jeff Ekhator, signed from Genoa, is struggling with a thigh problem and is expected to miss the trip, while Federico Gatti is still a doubt.
Up front, Arkadiusz Milik, Jonathan David and Kolo Muani are fighting for the central role. Kenan Yildiz, who finished as the club’s top scorer in Serie A last season with 10 goals, remains the main threat out wide.
