MLB: Red Sox’s Triston Casas has left wrist surgery

Another setback in a lost year

Triston Casas cannot catch a break. The Boston Red Sox first baseman underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left wrist on Thursday, a procedure performed by Dr. Matthew Leibman at the Newton-Wellesley Surgery Center in Massachusetts. Boston offered no timeline for his return, and he stays on the 60-day injured list.

The wrist is only the latest chapter. Casas, 26, opened the year on the injured list while recovering from a ruptured patellar tendon suffered in May 2025. An abdominal injury in spring training slowed him further, and the wrist inflammation flared as he tried to work his way back onto the field.
