A four-run ninth
Houston trailed 4-2 heading into the final inning. The Astros put up four runs without a single clutch hit, with LaMonte Wade Jr. driving in the winning run on a bases-loaded walk for a 6-4 final in Anaheim.
The rally was a mess from start to finish. A wild pitch, a bungled grounder by Vaughn Grissom at second, and two hit batters did the damage. The Angels beat themselves. Sam Bachman plunked Isaac Paredes, then walked Wade before botching the throw to Jose Altuve.

Trammell and Javier deliver
Taylor Trammell homered, drew two walks, was hit by a pitch and scored twice. On the mound, Cristian Javier (1-1) carved through five scoreless innings with seven strikeouts. Josh Hader shut the door for his 13th save of the season.
For Los Angeles, Grissom finished 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs. Small consolation. The Angels have now lost nine times this season after leading through eight innings. That is not a great look in a playoff race.
Six wins in seven
Houston keeps rolling, with six wins from its last seven games. Yordan Alvarez added his 78th RBI, the best mark in the American League. The Astros are off to a strong start in a three-game set against a division rival.
