Los Angeles FC vs Sporting Kansas City : LAFC aim to back up their strong run 
Los Angeles FC have been racking up positive results since the league resumed, and they are back at BMO Stadium with renewed confidence. The Californians have strung together three straight wins and are edging back into the race for the top spots in the Western Conference.
Sporting Kansas City head to Los Angeles with a bit more calm after beating Minnesota. Even so, their season has been a slog and this trip is one of the toughest on the schedule.
LAFC are clearly hitting their stride 
The win over Real Salt Lake confirmed the good spell Marc Dos Santos’ side are enjoying. Los Angeles have looked far more fluent in recent weeks, and their attacking patterns are becoming harder to miss with every game.
The partnership between Denis Bouanga and Son Heung-min is already causing serious damage. Both forwards have scored in the last two matches, and their understanding gives LAFC plenty of options in the final third. Add Hugo Lloris’ experience at the back and a midfield that can keep hold of the ball, and this is a very complete side.
The numbers also back the Californians. Unbeaten against Sporting Kansas City for several seasons, they have won seven straight meetings in this fixture and just seem to have their number.
Sporting Kansas City are still too inconsistent 
The win over Minnesota gave them a bit of breathing room, but it does not hide the problems they have faced since the start of the season. Sporting keep alternating between decent showings and spells of real struggle, especially away from home.
Dejan Joveljic remains the visitors’ main attacking threat. Well supplied by Manu Garcia, the striker can finish the smallest opening. The issue is that his side still leaves far too much space behind, which makes every away trip against the conference’s stronger teams a much bigger ask.
BMO Stadium has also never really been kind to Sporting in recent years. The Wizards regularly ship multiple goals against LAFC and will need a major defensive lift if they are to compete this time.
