Bologna – Lazio: Europe in their sights at the Stadio Dall’Ara
Separated by just two points, Bologna and Lazio meet determined to keep their hot runs rolling.
Bologna riding a European high
Well clear of relegation worries, Bologna are in dreamland. After dumping Roma out of the Europa League in dramatic fashion (a 3-3 classic finished in extra time by a decisive Nicolo Cambiaghi strike), Vincenzo Italiano’s men return to the grind of the league. They’re flying — four wins in their last five Serie A outings.
Still, don’t assume a party at the Dall’Ara. Oddly, their home form has been patchy lately — just two wins in their last twelve home league games. To avoid a nasty slip against a direct rival, Bologna must tighten up and crank the tempo in front of their fans.
Lazio, masters of shutting up shop
Lazio are upbeat too. Maurizio Sarri’s side just grabbed a big scalp, beating AC Milan 1-0 and climbing to ninth. They did knock Bologna out on penalties in the Coppa Italia at this ground last month, but league games live by different rules.
Their away strength? They don’t leak. With one of the tightest away defenses this season (only the Milan clubs ahead of them), Lazio sit deep and frustrate. The downside: the attack goes quiet on the road — just eight goals in 14 away matches. Expect them to shut up shop and try to nick it on a lightning counter or a set-piece.
Probable line-ups
Bologna : Ravaglia ; Zortea, Lucumi, Vitik, Miranda ; Moro, Freuler, Sohm ; Orsolini, Castro, Cambiaghi
Lazio : Motta ; Marusic, Gila, Romagnoli, Tavares ; Dele-Bashiru, Patric, Taylor ; Isaksen, Maldini, Pedro
Football Prediction Bologna vs Lazio
Under 2.5 goals
Expect a tight, tactical chess match between two sides who know each other inside out (their last two meetings finished 1-1 in regular time).
Lazio love to frustrate away from home, while Bologna have struggled to unlock teams at the Dall’Ara recently. The hosts’ European exertions will also count. Defences should dominate, which points to few clear chances and a scoreboard that won’t go crazy.

First, a word on our predictions
- What we publish on Mathodds are analyses, nothing more. We share an opinion, a snapshot of the moment — never a guarantee. Sport is unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a freak goal — and the script can flip instantly.
- Let’s be clear: no bet is risk-free. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing is. Yes, that means you can lose. It’s unavoidable at some point.
- Best advice: be sensible. Stake small, set a budget and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need to live on. And don’t chase losses — it rarely ends well.
- Betting should stay a pastime, not a job or income. If it takes over, stresses you, or causes problems, step back. If needed, speak to a specialist organisation — that’s what they’re for.
- Ultimately, the responsibility is yours. Reading our content means accepting the risk exists and won’t disappear, even with the best analysis.
- Important reminder: betting is illegal for minors and must comply with your country’s laws. Gambling can spiral (money losses, family tension, addiction). Need Help? Call 1-800-GAMBLER. In the UK? Visit https://www.gambleaware.org/https://www.gambleaware.org/.
No commitment from us
Our predictions aren’t a contract. They carry no legal weight. In short: you can’t rely on them to make a legal claim if a bet fails.
Info changes
A prediction is based on what we know when we write it. Teams change, players get injured, weather shifts — the analysis can become outdated fast. We can’t be held responsible for that.
Your role
