Inter vs Como: second against fourth, and a head-to-head Como haven’t cracked
Six meetings since December 2024 have produced five Inter wins and one draw. Como go to San Siro on Sunday 8 November, 17:00 UK time, still looking for a first win over Inter in that run, and they do it on five straight victories.
That streak reads 3-1 at Fiorentina, 4-1 against Manchester United in the Champions League, 2-0 against Sassuolo, 3-1 at Torino and 1-0 against Venezia. Across those five games they’ve scored 13 and conceded three.
Inter are second on 25 points from 10 matches and Como fourth on 23. The gap between the two is two points, and the goals columns give different answers: Inter have 26 scored to Como’s 18, while Como have conceded eight to Inter’s 13.
Both squads are short. Inter are without Alessandro Bastoni through suspension and Lautaro Martinez through injury, while Como have lost Moise Kean, Trevoh Chalobah, Assane Diao and Jesus Rodriguez.
The recent meetings haven’t been cagey. Inter won 4-3 at Como in the league on 12 April and 3-2 in the Coppa Italia nine days later, so goals have come at both ends. Inter are 1.75 to win, with the draw and Como both at 4.20.
Inter: 26 league goals, but Bastoni and Lautaro Martinez miss Sunday
Inter’s 8-1-1 league record has come with 26 goals, 2.6 a game. The single defeat was the most recent league match, 3-1 to AC Milan on 31 October, and they answered it with a 3-0 win at Feyenoord on 3 November.
That win leaves them with five days between games. Como played a Champions League tie at Lens on Wednesday, a day later, so the home side have the small advantage in recovery.
The absences are the concern. Bastoni is suspended after a red card, and Lautaro Martinez, John Stones, Benjamin Pavard, Luis Henrique and Jones are all reported out. Provedel is a doubt with illness.
The expected 3-5-2 has Federico Dimarco in the back three with Yann Bisseck and Manuel Akanji, Marcus Thuram up front with Diouf, and Hakan Calhanoglu, who has started all six of these meetings, running midfield with Nicolo Barella.
Their home numbers cut both ways. In their latest five-game sample at San Siro they’ve won four, lost one, scored 14 and conceded eight, which is why we don’t see a quiet afternoon. Before Milan, they beat Fiorentina 2-1, Venezia 2-0 and Shakhtar 1-0.
San Siro has been the better setting for this fixture. Inter’s last three home meetings with Como ended 2-0 in December 2024, 4-0 in December 2025 and 3-2 in the Coppa Italia in April, which is nine goals scored and two conceded. Their goal difference of plus 13 this season is also three better than Como’s plus 10, despite the extra goals they’ve let in.
Spence and Augusto are the expected wing-backs, and they’ll have to cover for a back three missing Bastoni. At the other end, Thuram and Diouf carry the goal threat without Lautaro Martinez.

Como: eight conceded in 10 league games, but Kean and Chalobah are both out
Como’s defence has been the best part of their season: eight goals conceded in 10 league matches, and three in their last five in all competitions. Their 7-2-1 league record has them two points off Inter.
Chalobah’s injury goes straight to that strength. He’s out along with Kean, Diao, Jesus Rodriguez, Addai and Liberali, which leaves Como short of options in attack and at the back.
Away from home the picture is less tidy. Their latest five-game away sample shows three wins and two defeats, 12 scored and eight conceded, which is 1.6 goals against per game compared with 0.6 in their last five overall.
Nico Paz has started all six meetings with Inter and remains the player most likely to create something. Como scored three in the league meeting in April and two in the Coppa Italia tie at San Siro, so they’ve shown they can hurt this opponent even in defeat.
The Lens game on Wednesday is the variable we can’t price yet. Como will have had four days at most to recover from a Champions League trip, with six players unavailable.
The calendar has been heavy. Como played on 18, 21, 24 and 27 October, then on 1 and 4 November, so Sunday is their seventh game in 22 days. They won the first five of those, scoring 13 and conceding three.
Probable lineup Inter: Martinez; Bisseck, Dimarco, Akanji; Spence, Calhanoglu, Barella, Sucic, Augusto; Thuram, Diouf
Probable lineup Como: Not announced at time of publication

Our prediction: Inter to win at 1.75
We’re backing Inter. They’ve won five of the last six meetings without losing one, they’ve scored 26 in the league, and they’ve had an extra day of rest after a 3-0 win in Rotterdam.
Como’s streak is a serious argument against us, and Inter’s back line is weakened without Bastoni, Stones and Pavard. Yet the visitors are six players short themselves, Kean and Chalobah among them, and they’ve had a day less to recover.
Inter’s four home wins from five in the latest sample and Como’s two away defeats in five are enough for us at 1.75. We’d expect both sides to score, as they did in both April meetings, with the home team finishing ahead.

About our free predictions
- What we publish on MathOdds are analyses, nothing more. We share a view, a reading of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport remains what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a last-minute goal, and the script changes completely.
- Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing ever is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s even inevitable at some point.
- The smartest approach is to stay reasonable. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Never use money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase your losses: that rarely ends well.
- A bet should remain a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking up too much space in your daily life, causes stress or frustration, take a break. And if needed, talk to a support organisation: that’s what they’re there for.
- Ultimately, responsibility lies with you. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, no matter how good the analysis.
- Essential reminder: gambling is prohibited for minors and must comply with the laws of your country. Need help? Visit begambleaware.org.
