Paris Saint-Germain vs Troyes: six straight league wins against a side with no player past one goal
No Troyes player has scored more than once in Ligue 1 this season, and that detail explains most of what the club faces at the Parc des Princes on Saturday 7 November, with kick-off at 19:45 UK time. Seven goals in nine league games have been shared around the squad, with Diop, Mille and Ripart among those on one apiece.
Paris Saint-Germain lead the table on 20 points, and six consecutive league wins have taken them there. Their record stands at six wins, two draws and one defeat from nine games.
The last three league results show where the side is now: 3-1 at Strasbourg on 17 October, 2-0 against Lyon on 26 October and 5-1 at Le Havre on 30 October. In between, Luis Enrique’s team won 4-2 at Manchester City and beat Barcelona by the same score in Paris.
Troyes come in 16th on eight points, though they do bring some momentum. They beat Le Mans 2-0 last Saturday, a week after holding Toulouse to a goalless draw away from home.
A straight PSG win at around 1.13 isn’t worth a preview, so the interest lies in whether Troyes can find a goal. I’d say that’s unlikely, for reasons that go beyond the gulf in quality.
Paris Saint-Germain: goals everywhere, and a defence that has sharpened up
PSG have scored 21 and conceded 10 in nine league games, and the goals have come from all over the side. Torres leads the club on four, with Marquinhos and Achraf Hakimi, both defenders, next on three.
Their concessions need some context. Ten in nine is 1.1 per game, yet only two of those have come in the last three league matches.
Strasbourg and Le Havre scored once each, and Lyon didn’t score at all. At home across all competitions, the last five matches show four wins, one defeat and a goal tally of 16-6.
The main variable is the calendar. PSG were due at Villarreal in the Champions League on Tuesday, and with a four-day gap to Saturday some rotation is likely, which could lower the tempo in the first half.
Depth hasn’t been a limit so far, given the run they’ve put together while playing twice a week. Since 2015 they’ve met Troyes four times at home in the league, winning three and drawing one, with a goal difference of 12-6.
That 12-6 shows Troyes have scored in Paris before, but they’ve never won there in that period. PSG have also won all four of their league trips to Troyes since 2016 by a combined 16-2.
Across all competitions PSG have won their last five, against Strasbourg, Le Havre, Lyon, Barcelona and Manchester City, with 18 goals scored and six conceded. Bookmakers have them at 1.25 to score first, and they price both teams to score at 1.95 for yes and 1.80 for no, which leans slightly towards a Troyes blank.

Troyes: three away league games without a goal
Troyes opened with a 0-0 draw against Paris FC and a 2-1 win at Lorient on 29 August, and those early points still underpin their position. Five defeats in the next six league games followed, with Strasbourg’s 6-2 win in Troyes on 6 September the heaviest.
Lille and Angers each beat them 2-0 away from home in September. Marseille then won 2-0 and Lens 3-1 in Troyes in October, leaving Troyes with one goal in four matches across that spell.
The trip to Toulouse on 25 October changed the tone, because the 0-0 draw was their first clean sheet since the opening day. Le Mans were then beaten 2-0 at home last weekend, so half of the club’s eight points have come in the last two games.
Scoring remains the central weakness. Troyes average 0.8 goals per game overall, and their only away goals of the season came in that win at Lorient, which means Lille, Angers and Toulouse all kept them out.
The defence has conceded 16 in nine, or 1.8 per game, and PSG have put five past Le Havre within the last week. If Troyes sit in and defend as they did at Toulouse, they can keep the score down, but they’d need a chance on the break to do any more than that.

Free Ligue 1 Prediction: Paris Saint-Germain vs Troyes
Our prediction: Paris Saint-Germain to win to nil at odds of 1.91
Everything in the numbers points the same way. Troyes have gone three away league games without scoring, they have no player beyond a single goal, and they’re visiting a side with six straight league wins and a run of two goals conceded in three league matches.
PSG’s rotation after Villarreal is the risk, since it could cost them the sharpness that has kept opponents quiet. It’s also the case that Troyes scored six goals in Paris in four league visits since 2015, though the same run of results shows they didn’t win there once.
At 1.91 the price pays nearly double for a result that fits Troyes’ away record exactly. I’d take that over chasing over 3.5 goals at 1.73, and I expect a 2-0 or 3-0, with Torres or one of the full-backs among the scorers.

About our free predictions
- What we publish on MathOdds are analyses, nothing more. We share a view, a reading of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport remains what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a last-minute goal, and the script changes completely.
- Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing ever is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s even inevitable at some point.
- The smartest approach is to stay reasonable. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Never use money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase your losses: that rarely ends well.
- A bet should remain a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking up too much space in your daily life, causes stress or frustration, take a break. And if needed, talk to a support organisation: that’s what they’re there for.
- Ultimately, responsibility lies with you. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, no matter how good the analysis.
