Pelicans beat Hawks 121-99, NBA news

NBA: Bey torches his old team as Pelicans rout Atlanta

Bey makes his old club pay

New Orleans led by 17 after the first quarter and never gave Atlanta a way back. The Pelicans won 121-99 on Saturday night, their second straight victory and the end of a four-game losing run against the Hawks. Atlanta had taken the last three meetings in New Orleans.

Saddiq Bey, who spent parts of 2023-24 with Atlanta, was the difference off the bench. He scored a season-high 25 points on 9-of-13 shooting, grabbed six rebounds and made a season-high four steals. Jeremiah Fears added 20 on 9-of-12 and seven assists, and Zion Williamson and Trey Murphy had 15 apiece.

Atlanta turned the ball over a season-high 19 times, and New Orleans turned those into 34 points. A skirmish with 3:04 left brought double technicals and two ejections, Atlanta’s Kingston Flemings and New Orleans’ Julian Reese. The Hawks have now lost four of their last five after winning their first two games.
