A bench that shot 50 percent from deep
Memphis matched the best start in franchise history on Saturday night, and it did so without its leading scorer. The Grizzlies beat Sacramento 136-105 to reach 6-0, the only unbeaten record left in the NBA. The last time they opened this well was 2014-15.
Ty Jerome, averaging 25.8 points, sat out with a back injury, as did backup Scotty Pippen Jr. It barely mattered. Cam Boozer set a career high with 27 points and nine rebounds, and Isaiah Stewart came off the bench for a season-high 24 on 8-of-9 shooting in 21 minutes. GG Jackson added 21 points and went 5 for 5 from three.

Acuff’s 38 not nearly enough
The Memphis reserves put up 81 points and hit 19 of 38 from beyond the arc. Jerami Grant scored 14 off the bench, and Cam Spencer had 10 points and 13 assists without a single turnover.
Sacramento fell to 0-6, one of two winless teams in the league. Darius Acuff Jr. did all he could, with a career-high 38 points on 9-of-14 three-point shooting after a 34-point, 14-assist night against New Orleans. He scored 21 in the first half alone, 13 of them in the last six minutes before the break.
Memphis led by as many as 21 in the first half and held a 66-55 lead at the break, then scored 42 points in the third quarter to put the game away.
