Paris FC vs Monaco: an injury-hit attack against a Monaco side short of goals
Thorgen Hazard came off the bench at the Bollaert on Saturday 24 October and scored the winner inside the last ten minutes, turning a Paris FC lead into a 2-1 defeat. Luca Koleosho had put Liam Rosenior’s side ahead just before half-time, and Florian Thauvin equalised on 63 minutes.
The bigger cost showed up on the treatment table. Koleosho went off injured at the break, Ilan Kebbal and Pablo Pagis were both withdrawn in the second half, and with Kevin Trapp already missing, Obed Nkambadio made his first start of the season in goal.
Monaco are the visitors at the Stade Jean-Bouin on Sunday 1 November, kick-off 16:15 UK time. Filipe Luis, who arrived from Flamengo, has his side in the top four, but they’ve won one of their last five league games and drew 1-1 at home to a ten-man Lille last weekend.
That one win was a big one, at the Parc des Princes against Paris Saint-Germain in September. Since then the goals have dried up, and Monaco’s league total of 11 is a low return for a team in the Champions League places.
Paris FC have the better of the recent meetings. They won 1-0 at Monaco in November 2025, ending a run of five straight defeats against them that went back to the 1970s, and beat Monaco 4-1 on their last visit to the Jean-Bouin in April.
The top of the table is crowded. Rennes went provisionally top last weekend by beating Strasbourg 3-0, Lille moved ahead on Sunday, and PSG finished the round in first place after beating Lyon on Monday night. Paris FC sat sixth after the Lens defeat, two points behind Rennes at that stage.
Paris FC: sixth in the table, with half the front line carrying knocks
Rosenior’s first months in charge have gone well where it counts. Paris FC were sixth after eight rounds, two points off the top at the time, and the 4-3 win over Rennes before the Lens trip showed how dangerous they are when Kebbal and Moses Simon get on the ball in the final third.
The results around that win have been mixed for Paris FC. A 1-0 defeat at Lorient came two weeks before the Lens loss, and earlier in the season they held Lyon to a 0-0 draw at the Jean-Bouin.
The team news is what shapes this game. Sangui is ruled out, while Trapp, Chergui, Traore, Camara, Matondo and Koleosho are all doubts. Ikone is still working back to full fitness, and early reports after Lens suggested Kebbal also has an injury problem.
If Kebbal can’t start, the creative work falls on Simon and Pagis behind Sinayoko, with Lopez and Lees-Melou sitting deeper. Matondo came on for Camara at the Bollaert and lasted barely ten minutes before taking a knock, although early indications are that he’s fine. Nkambadio is expected to keep his place in goal behind Zabi, Coppola, Mbow and Otavio.
The defensive record is better than the last two scorelines suggest. Paris FC conceded five goals across the Rennes and Lens games, yet only Monaco, Lille and Lyon have let in fewer league goals this season.

Monaco: one win in five and 11 league goals in eight games
Defence is the reason Monaco are in the top four. Filipe Luis has built a side that gives very little away, and they’re one of only three teams to have conceded fewer league goals than Paris FC.
The attack hasn’t kept pace. Eleven goals in eight league games is a modest figure, and the run of one win in five includes a 1-0 defeat at Lorient, who share the league’s best defensive record with Lille. Against well-organised sides, Monaco have struggled to create enough to win.
Last weekend’s 1-1 against Lille was a missed opportunity. Lille finished the game with ten men and still left the Stade Louis II with the point that took them top of the table.
Injuries have hit the forward options too. Ansu Fati picked up a hamstring injury against Lille and isn’t expected to be involved, and Stanis Idumbo and Dier are also unavailable.
The probable side has Hradecky in goal behind Vanderson, Sane, Teze and Nazinho, with Camara and Zakaria in front of the defence. Golovin should play behind Brunner, with Coulibaly and Detourbet on the flanks.
Probable lineup Paris FC: Nkambadio; Zabi, Coppola, Mbow, Otavio; Lopez, Lees-Melou; Kebbal, Pagis, Simon; Sinayoko
Probable lineup Monaco: Hradecky; Vanderson, Sane, Teze, Nazinho; Camara, Zakaria; Coulibaly, Golovin, Detourbet; Brunner

Our prediction: Under 2.5 goals
Both teams have lost attacking players this week. Paris FC may be without Koleosho and Kebbal, Monaco are missing Fati, and Monaco’s 11 league goals in eight games describe a side that wins narrowly or not at all.
The 4-1 in April is the obvious case for goals, but Monaco had a different coach then and Paris FC weren’t missing half their attack. These are two of the four meanest defences in Ligue 1, and Monaco’s only league win in their last five came back in September, at the Parc des Princes.
I expect a game of few clear chances, settled by one goal or drawn. A 1-1 or a 1-0 either way fits the current state of both squads, so under 2.5 goals is the pick.

About our free predictions
- What we publish on MathOdds are analyses, nothing more. We share a view, a reading of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport remains what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a last-minute goal, and the script changes completely.
- Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing ever is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s even inevitable at some point.
- The smartest approach is to stay reasonable. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Never use money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase your losses: that rarely ends well.
- A bet should remain a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking up too much space in your daily life, causes stress or frustration, take a break. And if needed, talk to a support organisation: that’s what they’re there for.
- Ultimately, responsibility lies with you. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, no matter how good the analysis.
