Manchester United vs Bournemouth – Free Premier League Prediction – 25/10/2026

Manchester United vs Bournemouth: six matches without a United win, six meetings without one either Premier League

Manchester United went into Wednesday’s Champions League trip to Como without a win in six games across all competitions. The last of them was a 1-1 at Leeds on Saturday, where Bryan Mbeumo’s 35th-minute goal was cancelled out by Dominic Calvert-Lewin six minutes after half-time.

Bournemouth are the visitors at Old Trafford on Sunday, with kick-off at 14:00 UK time, and United haven’t beaten them in the last six meetings. The last three were all draws: 2-2 at the Vitality in March, 4-4 at Old Trafford in December 2025 and 1-1 in April 2025. Before that, Bournemouth won 3-0 at Old Trafford twice, in December 2023 and December 2024.

The table has the clubs two places apart. United are 13th with seven points from seven games (W1 D4 L2, goals 10-10), and Bournemouth are 15th on six (W1 D3 L3, goals 9-13).

Michael Carrick’s side took six points from their first six league games, the club’s lowest return at that stage since 1986-87. Their one league win was a 5-2 against Ipswich on 30 August, with Bruno Fernandes scoring a hat-trick.

Marco Rose’s Bournemouth have only just found their first league win. They beat Sunderland 2-0 at home on Saturday, Marcus Tavernier scoring after six minutes and Evanilson early in the second half, after Kevin Danso had been sent off on 17 minutes.

Both sides have European football in midweek. United played Como on Wednesday evening, and Bournemouth host AC Milan in the Europa League on Thursday at 20:00, which leaves Rose’s squad with less than three days to recover before kick-off.

Manchester United: 19.7 shots a game, four draws, and a growing injury list Manchester United

United take 19.7 shots per game, more than any other Premier League side. Mbeumo has four league goals from 24 shots, and he scored in both of the last two league games, against Tottenham and Leeds.

Turning shots into wins hasn’t followed. The Tottenham game on 10 October finished 1-1 after Dominic Solanke headed in a 90th-minute equaliser against ten men, and the 1-1 at Fulham on 20 September needed an 89th-minute Cunha goal after a Lisandro Martinez own goal.

Martinez is now a doubt. He came off at half-time at Leeds and didn’t train on Tuesday, while Rashford (hip) and De Ligt (back) are also uncertain. Dorgu, Sesko, Ugarte, Mainoo, Shaw and Heaven are all listed as out.

Yoro was sent off in the 2-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid on 13 October, but that ban applies in the Champions League and he played the league game at Leeds. We expect him to be available at the back on Sunday.

Fernandes has three league goals and has created 16 chances, the main source of supply for Mbeumo. Old Trafford has been mixed this season: a 5-2 win over Ipswich, a 1-0 defeat to Manchester City, the 1-1 with Spurs and a 3-2 EFL Cup defeat to Brighton.

That Brighton game on 16 September followed a familiar script. Lacey and Mount scored inside the first ten minutes, and United still lost. Since then they’ve drawn three league games and lost 2-0 in Madrid, where Atletico scored in the first minute.

Bournemouth: four league goals for Tavernier, nine conceded in three away games Bournemouth

Marcus Tavernier has four Premier League goals, and ten of his 16 shots have been on target. His goal against Sunderland came after six minutes, and Evanilson, who scored his 100th career goal in that game, also scored against Chelsea and Sturm Graz in the previous two matches.

Bournemouth’s European form has been the best part of their season. They won 2-1 at Real Sociedad in September and beat Sturm Graz 3-0 last Thursday, with Evanilson, Rayan and Alvaro Rodriguez on the scoresheet. Milan come to the Vitality on Thursday.

The away record in the league tells a different story. Bournemouth lost 2-1 at Manchester City and 5-1 at Chelsea, and drew 2-2 at Newcastle, which adds up to nine goals conceded in three away games and no wins.

Scott (thigh), Eli Junior Kroupi (ankle), Araujo and Milosavljevic are out, and Kluivert (muscle) and Adli (calf) are doubts. Some rotation is expected for the Milan game, which may decide how fresh Rose’s starting XI is on Sunday.

They’ve scored in each of their last three meetings with United, and two of those games produced four goals or more. Kroupi, who scored a penalty in the 2-2 in March, won’t be involved this time.

Probable lineup Manchester United: Lammens; Dalot, Martinez, Maguire, Yoro; Baleba, Andrey Santos; Fernandes, Tielemans, Amad; Mbeumo
Probable lineup Bournemouth: Petrovic; Truffert, Silva, Hill, Smith; Adams; Tavernier, Cook, Christie, Rayan; Evanilson

Free Premier League Prediction: Manchester United vs Bournemouth

Our prediction: Both teams to score (1.57)

Our pick is both teams to score at 1.57. United’s last two league games and Bournemouth’s last three meetings with them have all seen both sides score, and the last two meetings between these clubs produced 12 goals.

United’s volume of shots should bring a goal at home, with Mbeumo scoring in consecutive league games and Fernandes behind him. Bournemouth have conceded nine in three league away games, and United’s possible absences at centre-back, with Martinez a doubt, don’t make the Bournemouth attack any easier to contain.

The midweek schedule is the risk: Bournemouth play Milan on Thursday night and could rotate either side of it. We still think Tavernier and Evanilson will find a way through against a United side that hasn’t kept a clean sheet in seven league games this season.

About our free predictions

  • What we publish on MathOdds are analyses, nothing more. We share a view, a reading of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport remains what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a last-minute goal, and the script changes completely.
  • Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing ever is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s even inevitable at some point.
  • The smartest approach is to stay reasonable. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Never use money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase your losses: that rarely ends well.
  • A bet should remain a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking up too much space in your daily life, causes stress or frustration, take a break. And if needed, talk to a support organisation: that’s what they’re there for.
  • Ultimately, responsibility lies with you. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, no matter how good the analysis.
  • Essential reminder: gambling is prohibited for minors and must comply with the laws of your country. Need help? Visit begambleaware.org.

Information changes

A prediction is always based on what we know at the time of writing. But between publication and kick-off, a lineup can change, a player picks up an injury, the weather turns, and the analysis can quickly be outdated. We cannot be held responsible for that.
