Trabzonspor vs Besiktas: a perfect home record against the league’s second-placed side
Trabzonspor have played three Süper Lig games at Papara Park this season and won all three, scoring 11 and conceding once: 2-1 against Istanbul Basaksehir, 5-0 against Genclerbirligi and 4-0 against Galatasaray.
Besiktas are the next visitors, on Monday 19 October, with kick-off at 19:00 Paris time in Gameweek 8. Thomas Reis’s side are fifth on 13 points from seven matches, three behind leaders Galatasaray. Besiktas sit second on 15 points, so a home win would lift Trabzonspor level with them.
The recent meetings favour the hosts. Trabzonspor won 2-1 at Besiktas on 9 May 2026 and drew 3-3 at home in December 2025, and across their last five home games against Besiktas they’ve won once and drawn four times without a defeat. The longer record is tighter: 33 meetings in all competitions, nine Trabzonspor wins, 12 draws and 12 Besiktas wins.
Besiktas have been strong at home and patchy on the road. They’ve lost three away matches in all competitions this season: 1-0 at Alanyaspor, 3-2 at Amed and 1-0 against Kauno Zalgiris in the Europa League play-off. They also won 2-1 at Fenerbahce and 3-2 at Hoffenheim on Thursday, so the picture isn’t one-sided.
Both sides return to Europe three days later, Trabzonspor in the Conference League and Besiktas in the Europa League. Trabzonspor have kept 76% of their starting XI over the last six games and named the same team twice in a row, while Besiktas have retained 69%.
The prices make Besiktas favourites at 2.20, with Trabzonspor at 2.80 and the draw at 3.50. We think that gap reflects the table more than what happens at this ground.
Trabzonspor: 11 goals in three home games, but Onuachu and Kabasakal are missing
The league sequence reads W 2-1 Basaksehir, L 2-1 at Amed, W 5-0 Genclerbirligi, L 1-0 at Konyaspor, W 4-0 Galatasaray and W 3-0 at Samsunspor. Both defeats came away from home.
Reis took over after the loss in Konya and has won both league games since, scoring seven without reply. Trabzonspor also won 4-2 at KuPS in the Conference League, although a 1-0 home defeat to Drogheda United sits in the same run of results.
The absences are significant. Melih Kabasakal is suspended after his red card at Samsunspor, Paul Onuachu has a muscle problem expected to keep him out for some time, and Ruslan Malinovskyi (knee), Umut Nayir and goalkeeper Onuralp Cevikkan (both hamstring) are also unavailable. Mustafa Eskihellac, Okay Yokuslu and Stefan Savic are doubts.
Franculino Dju should lead the line. He scored at Samsunspor and twice at KuPS, while Ernest Muci opened the scoring in Samsun and Mohamed Salah was on target against KuPS. Arseniy Batagov is back in training after a serious knee injury in March 2026, though he’s unlikely to start.
Fabinho and Tufan are expected in central midfield, with Chibuike Nwaiwu and Mendy in front of Andre Onana. That defence has conceded once in three home league games, and we’d put that number at the centre of this match.

Besiktas: 15 league goals in six games, with Vlahovic and Oh both in doubt
Besiktas’s last six league results: L 1-0 at Alanyaspor, W 6-2 Corum, W 2-1 at Fenerbahce, W 3-0 Erzurumspor, L 3-2 at Amed, W 2-1 Kocaelispor. That’s 15 scored and eight conceded.
The split by venue is stark. All three home games in that run were wins with 11 goals. The three away games produced one win and four goals, and two defeats.
Thursday’s 3-2 win at Hoffenheim showed the depth in attack. Michael Murillo opened the scoring and Oh Hyeon-gyu came off the bench to score twice. Oh is now reported to be suspended after a third yellow card, which would remove one of the side’s in-form finishers.
Dusan Vlahovic missed the Hoffenheim game with viral gastroenteritis and is uncertain. He converted a penalty against Kocaelispor and would be chasing goals in three straight league matches. Milot Rashica has a hamstring problem, Vaclav Cerny was forced off against Kocaelispor with a thigh issue, and Orkun Kokcu, who opened the scoring in that game, is reported as doubtful with a toe injury.
The midfield base of Wilfred Ndidi and Ozcan should start, with Leandro Trossard on one flank. Besiktas also beat Marseille 4-1 at home in Europe, but that came in Istanbul, where this side has done nearly all of its damage.
Probable lineup Trabzonspor: Onana; Pina, Nwaiwu, Mendy, Cabral; Fabinho, Tufan; Salah, Muci, Simsir; Dju
Probable lineup Besiktas: Nubel; Murillo, Agbadou, Topcu, Ouattara; Ozcan, Ndidi; Fakili, Kokcu, Trossard; Oh Hyeon-gyu

Our prediction: Trabzonspor or draw, double chance (odds 1.57)
Trabzonspor haven’t dropped a point at home this season and have conceded once in three home league games. Against Besiktas specifically, they’re unbeaten in their last five home meetings, with four of those ending level. That’s the profile of a double chance bet rather than an outright one.
Besiktas have the better league position and the more prolific attack, and we don’t dismiss the 2-1 at Fenerbahce. But two of their three away league games ended in defeat, and they could be without Vlahovic, Oh, Kokcu, Cerny and Rashica in some combination.
Onuachu’s absence weakens Trabzonspor’s attack, which is why we stop short of the home win at 2.80. Covering the draw at 1.57 backs the strongest trend in this fixture: Besiktas haven’t won at Trabzonspor in any of the last five visits.

About our free predictions
- What we publish on MathOdds are analyses, nothing more. We share a view, a reading of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport remains what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a last-minute goal, and the script changes completely.
- Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing ever is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s even inevitable at some point.
- The smartest approach is to stay reasonable. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Never use money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase your losses: that rarely ends well.
- A bet should remain a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking up too much space in your daily life, causes stress or frustration, take a break. And if needed, talk to a support organisation: that’s what they’re there for.
- Ultimately, responsibility lies with you. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, no matter how good the analysis.
- Essential reminder: gambling is prohibited for minors and must comply with the laws of your country. Need help? Visit begambleaware.org.
