Jacksonville Jaguars vs Philadelphia Eagles: a covering machine against an offence in pieces
Nine covers in eleven games as favourites. That’s Jacksonville’s record under Liam Coen since the start of 2025, and on Sunday they’re favourites again, this time at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The Jaguars are the designated home side for what will be the franchise’s 15th game in London. They’ve gone 7-7 in the previous fourteen. Kick-off is at 9:30 a.m. ET, so 14:30 in London and 15:30 Paris time, live on NFL Network.
Jacksonville open as 4.5-point favourites. The moneyline reads 1.46 for the Jaguars and 2.80 for the Eagles, with the total at 43.5. Some books have already pushed the spread further toward Jacksonville.
Philadelphia have lost two in a row. They were beaten 27-7 in Chicago by a backup quarterback, then blew a 10-point fourth-quarter lead against the Rams last weekend.
That’s not a blip. That’s a trend. And it’s landed on a team that’s dropped out of first place in the NFC East after four weeks.
One more split worth noting. The Over has landed in three of Philadelphia’s four games this season, the Under in three of Jacksonville’s four. Something has to give, and the side with the better offence usually decides which way.
The injury list keeps getting longer, too. Is there enough left in this Eagles offence to keep pace with one of the league’s sharpest attacks? The numbers say no.
Jacksonville Jaguars: second in EPA per play and 3-1 against the spread
Cincinnati managed 17 points against this defence last weekend. That’s the latest entry in a run that’s seen Jacksonville beat Cleveland, New England and the Bengals, three sides with playoff ambitions of their own.
The New England game was the statement: 35-6. The Jaguars have covered in all three of their wins, and they’ve blown out two of those opponents.
Trevor Lawrence has climbed into the MVP conversation, now priced at 7.50. The offence ranks second in the league in EPA per play and fourth in success rate. He’ll still try the occasional tight-window throw that invites trouble, but the volume of good decisions far outweighs the bad ones.
The defence sits seventh in EPA per play and 13th in success rate. Not elite. Solid, though, and more than good enough against the offence it faces on Sunday.
The injury report? Barely anything. Eric Murray and Caleb Ransaw are questionable, and that’s the lot.
This is familiar territory, too. No franchise has spent more time in London, and the routine of the trip, the time difference and the stadium are nothing new to this group. Philadelphia arrive after a week dominated by injury news.
After winning the AFC South last season, Coen’s group look even better this time around. They’re a side that knows what it’s about, and they’ve earned the right to be priced like this.

Philadelphia Eagles: Barkley, Smith and Goedert all in doubt after Hurts went 12 of 27
Twelve of 27. Ninety-three yards. That’s what Jalen Hurts managed against the Rams, and two touchdown passes couldn’t paper over it.
Across the last two weeks, Hurts has thrown for 246 yards in total and Philadelphia have been outscored 51-27. Through four games they rank 29th in yards per play, 28th in EPA per play and 30th in success rate. That doesn’t bear close inspection.
The Rams held them to 172 total yards and 0-for-12 on third down. Zero from twelve. A roster with this much talent shouldn’t be capable of that.
And the talent’s disappearing. Saquon Barkley hurt his hamstring on the opening drive against the Rams, is considered week-to-week and is unlikely to play in London. DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert are both in doubt. Tank Bigsby has gone on injured reserve, and Lane Johnson has announced his retirement. Take that lot out of any offence and it struggles.
Hurts has won a Super Bowl MVP, so nobody should write him off for good. Right now, though, he’s working without the three most reliable names in his skill group. That’s a lot to ask of anyone.
The defence has its own worries, with Jonathan Greenard, Quinyon Mitchell and Zack Baun all listed as questionable.
Philadelphia are 0-4 against the spread this season, and their two wins came by the narrowest of margins against Washington and Tennessee, sides that are a combined 1-7. There’s no sugarcoating it. This team is in trouble, and it won’t get easier from here.

Free NFL Prediction: Jacksonville Jaguars vs Philadelphia Eagles
Our prediction: Jacksonville Jaguars -4.5 at 1.91
Jacksonville by more than a converted touchdown. The Jaguars have the second-best offence in the league by EPA per play, a clean injury report and a 9-2 record against the spread as favourites under Coen. Philadelphia have the 28th-ranked offence by the same measure, and they might be without their best running back, their top receiver and their tight end.
The moneyline at 1.46 doesn’t leave enough on the table. Laying 4.5 at 1.91 does, and it’s a number this Jaguars side has cleared comfortably in every game they’ve won this season.
The danger is turnovers. Lawrence’s risk-taking gives a ball-hawking secondary a chance or two, and one pick-six changes the maths. But Philadelphia can’t move the ball, can’t convert on third down and haven’t covered once. Jaguars -4.5.

About our free predictions
- What we publish on MathOdds are analyses, nothing more. We share a view, a reading of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport remains what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a last-minute goal, and the script changes completely.
- Let’s be clear: there’s no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing ever is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s even inevitable at some point.
- The smartest approach is to stay reasonable. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Never use money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase your losses, that rarely ends well.
- A bet should remain a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking up too much space in your daily life, causes stress or frustration, take a break. And if needed, talk to a support organisation: that’s what they’re there for.
- Ultimately, responsibility lies with you. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, no matter how good the analysis.
- Essential reminder: gambling is prohibited for minors and must comply with the laws of your country. Need help? Visit begambleaware.org.
