Still no bogey, but no longer in front
Pauline Roussin-Bouchard handed back the lead at the Maybank Championship without making a single mistake. The Frenchwoman followed Thursday’s 64 with a 69 (-3) at Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club, birdieing the 2nd, 13th and 18th, and still has no bogey on her card after 36 holes.
She sits on 11 under in a share of second with Julia Lopez Ramirez. The difference is Miyu Yamashita.
Yamashita turns up the pace
The defending champion started the day one shot behind Roussin-Bouchard and finished it two ahead of her. A 66 (-6) took Yamashita to 13 under and sole possession of the lead at the halfway mark.
For Roussin-Bouchard the task for the weekend is clear. She is still chasing a first LPGA victory, and a two-shot gap against the player who won here last year is very much a fight she can take on.
