Washington left no doubt
The Mystics beat the Chicago Sky 101-93 on Thursday night in the final game of the WNBA regular season for both teams. Washington never looked rattled: the lead stretched to as many as 25 points at times.
Sonia Citron led the Mystics with 21 points. Kiki Iriafen and Michaela Onyenwere added 16 apiece, Georgia Amoore chipped in 14 and Cotie McMahon had 12. Iriafen also pulled down 15 rebounds, while Shakira Austin rounded out the team effort with 7 points and 11 rebounds.

A record season for Washington
With the win, Washington (28-16) wraps up a season that saw them finish 12 games better than in 2025, a franchise record. The Mystics have secured at least the sixth seed for the playoffs. They also finished plus-17 on the glass across the season series with Chicago (44-27), which they swept 3-0 this year.
For Chicago, Kamilla Cardoso, Sydney Taylor and Courtney Vandersloot each scored 16 points. Rachel Banham added 12. Cardoso grabbed 10 rebounds, Vandersloot handed out 7 assists. A decent individual line, but nowhere near enough to stop another playoff-free season for the Sky, their third straight.
On to the playoffs for Washington
This run-in confirms the clear progress of a younger roster. The Mystics head into the playoffs with the strongest momentum they have had in recent memory, even if their first-round opponent is still to be decided by the night’s remaining results.
