Sixth straight, and a ticket punched
Golden State clinched a playoff berth overnight, beating the Dallas Wings 78-70 at a sold-out Chase Center for a sixth consecutive win. Gabby Williams scored 23 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Veronica Burton added 16 points and five assists.
The Valkyries sit at 25-9. They have already passed last season’s win total by two and have taken 15 of their last 17 games overall. Stephen Curry watched from the stands with his son Canon and a handful of Warriors teammates.
Golden State reached the playoffs in 2025 as the first expansion franchise to manage it in an inaugural season, then lost to the top-seeded Minnesota Lynx by a single point in Game 2 of the first round. That result still frames what this group is chasing.

Hayes swung the first quarter
Dallas started better. The Wings hit seven of their first 10 attempts and led 15-8 while the Valkyries opened 3 for 13. Tiffany Hayes changed the mood from just inside half court, burying a buzzer-beating three to put Golden State ahead 20-19 after one.
The second quarter settled it. Golden State closed the half on an 11-0 run and walked off 44-28 in front. Hayes finished with 10 points and a pair of threes, Janelle Salaun added 10 off the bench, and the Valkyries went 12 for 36 from long range.
Kiah Stokes logged 23 minutes in her first outing since clearing concussion protocol. She had missed last Wednesday’s home win over Chicago.
Bueckers kept Dallas breathing
Paige Bueckers scored 21 and dragged the Wings back into the game down the stretch. Arike Ogunbowale put up 17, Alanna Smith contributed 13 points and five rebounds. Dallas has now lost five of its last six and the margin between the two sides has narrowed since Golden State won the earlier meeting by 18.
Golden State hosts Minnesota on Wednesday night. Dallas hosts Indiana on Thursday.
