32-18 after ten minutes and it never got closer
Dallas beat Connecticut 97-71 in Arlington overnight, and the first quarter told you how it would go. The Wings led 32-18 at the first break, 60-47 at half, then opened the third with a 23-12 run that pushed it to 83-59. Garbage time arrived early.
Arike Ogunbowale had 18. Jessica Shepard went for 17 and 10 boards. Paige Bueckers scored 15, every one of them before the interval. Maddy Siegrist gave them 11 off the bench. When four players hit double figures against a team that cannot get stops, the margin looks after itself.
It was the last game before the two-week shutdown for the FIBA Women’s World Cup.

Most wins in a season since the move to Texas
Four straight now, and a 24-16 record. The franchise moved from Detroit to Tulsa to Texas, arriving in 2016, and it has never won this many in a year since.
The playoff spot was already locked, their first since 2023. This one pulls them level with the Liberty and the Mystics in sixth with four to play, and where they finish decides who they open against. That is not a small detail in this part of the bracket.
It also completed a sweep of the three-game series with Connecticut.
Edwards scored 26 and it barely registered
The Sun are 10-30, beaten in five of their last six, and done for the year. It is also their last season in Connecticut, which gives what remains a strange weight.
Aaliyah Edwards was the one player who fought it, 26 points to match her career high, 21 of them by half-time. Charlisse Leger-Walker added 17. Neither had any help.
