A way back in
Will Levis has a team again. The former Tennessee quarterback is signing with the New York Jets practice squad, according to multiple reports on Tuesday. He worked out for the club earlier this month and takes the spot of Bailey Zappe, who is being released.
It is a modest landing spot, but it ends a month on the street. The Titans let Levis go in August, three years after trading up to take him in the second round of the 2023 draft out of Kentucky.

Twenty-one starts and a lost year
Levis started nine games as a rookie and won the job outright in 2024. That season went badly. He went 2-10 as a starter, missed time with a shoulder injury and was benched for the final two games.
Tennessee then drafted Cam Ward first overall in 2025, and Levis never got back on the field. Shoulder surgery wiped out his entire season. Across 21 career starts he completed 61 percent of his passes for 3,899 yards, 21 touchdowns and 16 interceptions.
What the Jets get
The move costs New York almost nothing. A practice squad spot gives the Jets a look at a 27-year-old with a big arm and starting experience, without committing a place on the 53-man roster. For Levis, the goal is simple: stay healthy, show the shoulder holds up and give a quarterback-hungry league a reason to call.
