Golden State cruise in Dallas
Nothing rattled the Golden State Valkyries on Tuesday night. The California side walked into the Dallas Wings’ building and walked out with a 94-76 win, and the 18-point margin, if anything, was kind to the hosts.
Veronica Burton ran the show with 22 points. Gabby Williams chipped in 19. Kayla Thornton went for a double-double, 11 points and 10 boards. Three players humming, a defence that bit down hard, and a Dallas team that never found the answer.

Dallas fold on their own floor
The Wings wanted to hit back in front of their own crowd. They shrank instead. The fourth quarter snuffed out whatever comeback they had in mind, the gap never closing, and a rough stretch is only getting rougher with the playoff race tightening.
For Golden State the timing could hardly be sweeter. This expansion group keeps turning heads in its short life, and every win counts double in a conference where a game or two is all that separates the contenders from the pack.
A statement before the run-in
Burton is climbing into top gear, and this was more evidence of it. That Burton, Williams and Thornton core is starting to look like a spine the Valkyries can lean on down the stretch.
Dallas, for their part, need a response in a hurry. The calendar is not in a forgiving mood.
