That is how many players UConn added to the roster this offseason. Sixty of them arrived through the transfer portal.
Jason Candle gutted the programme and rebuilt it from scratch. The first look came last Saturday: 56-7 over Lafayette, 671 total yards, a school record.
Kalieb Osborne was at the centre of everything. The quarterback followed Candle over from Toledo and went 19 of 26 for 265 yards, two touchdowns through the air, two more on the ground. He also led the team in rushing with 90 yards on eight carries.
It was Lafayette, though.

Maryland scored 62 and gave up 10 rushing yards
The Terrapins (1-0) beat Hampton 62-0 at home with 646 total yards, 365 of those on 40 carries.
Here is the number that matters. Six rushing touchdowns in a single afternoon. Maryland scored nine all of last season.
The defense was arguably better. Five sacks, 10 rushing yards allowed on 31 attempts, six first downs conceded, four of which came on Hampton’s last drive of the night.
Malik Washington was quiet by his own standards: 19 of 31, 186 yards, one touchdown. Only the second time in 13 career games he has finished under 200 through the air.
East Hartford is where the guessing stops
Saturday, both sides finally meet somebody capable of pushing back.
Mike Locksley is thinking about the trip more than the opponent. “The work is going to matter, because this is our first chance to travel together,” the Maryland coach said. “I’m really looking forward to seeing how we respond when we go into a tough environment.”
Candle is waiting for the punch in the mouth. “Number one, we haven’t faced any adversity yet,” he said Monday. “That’s our challenge this week, to keep taking care of the details and the habits in practice so we’re ready when it all kicks off.”
Two unbeaten teams. Neither has proved a thing.
