Already in the Aube, already at the medical
Timothe Nkada did not hang around. Foot Mercato reported this afternoon that ESTAC and Standard Liege have agreed a loan with a purchase option set at 1.8 M€, and the 27-year-old striker was in Troyes and starting his medical before the ink had dried.
The promoted side wanted a forward to share the load with Renaud Ripart. Nkada arrives off a thin season in Belgium, 5 goals and 1 assist in 32 games for a Standard side that never found any rhythm. His case rests on the year before that, when he finished as Ligue 2’s second-highest scorer in a Rodez shirt.

Nkada links back up with Stephane Dumont, the pair having worked together at Stade de Reims. That counts for something in a deal closed this late, when a striker gets days rather than weeks to absorb a system and start earning minutes.
Troyes have handled their return to the top flight well so far. Four points from three games, sixth place, and a win at Lorient last weekend. The problem is the attack, which has been carried by far too few players.
